Anyone have Garmin GPS maps for Mcelan Creek area single track. I know quite a few of the trails but am looking for some of the gems I keep hearing about.

    Thanks!

Checked out my Alberta/BC Backroadmaps yesterday before I posted and there was no maps so it must be the Alberta specific map. I'll shoot you a PM regarding a ride on the bigger bike within the next few weeks. Just heading out on vacation here shortly.

Years ago the government posted a Garmin specific map file of all the authorized trails in the McLean Creek area. I still have a copy loaded on my Montana.

In the past couple years they have been posting a georeferenced pdf that many smart phone apps can use. Works fine, but I like a GPS unit better than my smartphone on the bike.

I can possibly get the Garmin file uploaded somewhere to share.

As @Camel ADV said, the Backroads chipset has most of the tracks, but I prefer the PLUZ maps. All the tracks are color coded for single/quad/4x4 and show up much better than the tracks on my Backroads chip.

You have to have the detail set to "most" to see the single track.

I'll have to download the PLUZ file. Thanks for the heads up.

this is an old note but thought I would post for future readers.

There is also the Southern Alberta Trail Maps project:

This map can be used in basecamp and garmin devices. I dont think it's routable but has mclean creek trails on there.
