Hi blackie Which part of Canada are you at? Do you ride in canada? Joined the ADV folks there? Don't think there are bikes for rental here. Those that I know of are usually done on a personal basis only. I may be wrong. Will let you know if I hear of any. Thanks for joining us.
Hi Sankar73 Sounds like your usual road. I like that. Unfortunately, Saturdays are bad for me. Sundays or weekdays may be better. Wished I can join you folks. Have a great ride. I shall be out riding a little this Friday evening after 10pm. Feel free to join me for a short ride and have coffee too.
It is a short, half a day's ride kinda route with enough twisty roads to keep most entertained ... there are much more better roads if we head further north but these are usually overnight kinda rides....
Hi Sankar73 and Xomaman Weather was a little wet today. Did you boys still managed to go on the ride?
The weather in Malaysia was great. Cloudy and overcast..but no thunderstorm as reported in the forecast yesterday... We set off from the petrol kiosk at about 8.30am... I was my fault that we set off that late... we rode to Kahang and from there we turned into the beginning of the way to Endau Rompin ... it was a great ride and I have come to appreciate my bike even more ... It took me up to Endau Rompin without any problem... I've never abused any of my other bikes this much..and I've also never abused myself this much neither... the Gran Canyon is truly a great bike... it was a very tough ride.. many times I wanted to stop and give up.. but the thought of getting stuck in the forest drove me on... if it had rained... I won't have been back tonight to write this.. you must try this route but change the tires to knobblies and get a lighter bike... Xomaman has also come to respect his bike much more... he said something like this, "I could do alot that will break this bike but it won't break at all"... Xomaman took alot of pictures... I'll leave to him to tell you more about the ride...
Great ride Sankar! Have to do that again some time. Finally got my bike washed. The trip report is here: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=508009 -Xman
Would love to meet some some other ADVers. I'm in center city a block or so from Raffles Hotel. Corporate offices are in Suntec City so I'll be spending much time there. Shiny side up, Tim
Welcome GreenBoat! Shall certainly pm you when there is a meet-up. As you would have read, some of us have already met up separately and gone on trips. We will probably post here if we are meeting again. Stay tune. BTW, since home is so near to your office, do you ride there?
Only here for a week (leaving at oh-dark-thirty on Saturday morning). So if there's a meet-up between now and then, that would be great. And no, no bike for me this week. It's taxi, bus, and on foot so far.
Hello, Singapore riders! I've been on this forum for a year or two but just found this thread. Can't believe it. I'm a Singapore girl who now lives in Washington state, USA. The town I live in is about 70 miles north of Seattle. I visit Singapore once a year to see my mother, brothers and nephews. I'm always amazed at the way bikers zip in and out (lane sharing) of traffic on the expressways. Some of the RR really make me homesick. I used to ride a Kawasaki 125 cc bike when I lived in Singapore but in 1993, I got into an accident and totaled my bike and broke my tibia and fibula. Received 20-plus stitches in my gum too because I landed on my face (no full faced helmet then). Ah...those were the days. I won't feel comfortable riding in Singapore because it's left hand drive. I'm too used to the right lane. I even have problems crossing the road in Singapore when I'm visiting. It takes a few days to re-adjust. Feel free to check my riding reports on my profile. Nothing great but I'm still riding after the accident.
Hi maiden.jade Welcome to our little thread. Glad you found us. BTW, nice nick. Do share with us your rides and pictures of your playgrounds(riding places). Some of us who have not been to Seattle can only imagine what the place would be like. Happy to have a fellow Singaporean there and in our riding community. Hey, with you on the thread, we are going International. LOL
I guess that is why the Sub-forum for your area is: Pacific Northwet - Where it's green. And wet. Washington, Oregon and Idaho
EXACTLY!!! For instance, this week, it has been drizzling everyday. It was raining when I woke up in the morning and it rained till afternoon. Then the sun came out for a few hours to tease us. Everyone was happy. On the way home from work, it started getting cloudy and it drizzled again. It happens this way every fall, winter and spring. Summer is probably the only dry days. In Singapore, when it rains, it rains and it's done. Down here, it drags on and on and on...it really gets to some people. But hey, I've been living here in the pacific northwet since 2001. I'm done complaining about the rain.
Hi to all. Another SG rider reporting in! I'm currently living in the NorthEast area. Ocassional trips across the straits to Malaysia and rarely, Thailand. Great to see many SG riders here.
