Target destination of today is Bukit Botak aka 1 Tree Hill. and the climb was relax compared to previous ride as ground has been smoothen and flatten.

there were 2 experience trail riders joined us today.

hey guys, brilliant thread. Especially the off road stuff.. Hey, Im in the process of negotiating a move to Sing and was wondering if its worth, or even possible, to bring a bike along with me..? I read someplace that no bikes at all can be imported to Spore by individuals these days.. Anyone know if this is the case..?

I live in HK and have a Duc Multi, which Ill bin before i leave, but have a new KTM 530 sitting in QLD (Aust) ready for another attempt at Cape York in July. After that trip, ill be moving to Sing, (from HK), and want to know whether i can bring the Kato with me (from Aus). If not, ill leave it down there for rides there and get another in Sing... (yeah, like i can really afford two brand new Kato's...).

    Any help greatly appreciated. :1drink

    Hi Crusty,

You can still self import a motorcycle into Singapore, that is, if you are game for shitloads of paperwork, time, effort and money....not worth the trouble IMO. Take a look at the procedure HERE as required by the local authorities involved, and if you still think that you can stay sober after all that, by all means :D

Ducs and Katooms are not cheap here but at least they are still much better off to pay and avoid the trouble. Btw, how could u ever bear to leave a spanking new bike sitting around idling? Good luck on Cape York :1drink

    bikermice,

thanks for the link. actually i dug it up myself last night.

so there seems to be around 35%+ in government charges on market value, before i pay for shippage and miscellaneous other charges... no thanks.

Ill keep the kato in Aust for a year or two, do some rides there, then flip it. See the Duc in HK to pay for another bike (Kato..?) in Singapore.

    thank again.

    Hi Guys

I should be moving to Singapore in about 6 weeks.

Which is the best place to look for pricing on S/H ADV type bikes?

I have a Suzuki Dr650 here with accesories like both size long range tanks and spare wheels so would like to see if I can get one up there then frieght in my bits.

Does this sound like a plan

    Hey Fredful,

Are you looking for freight forwarders to ship parts for your DR650 to Singapore only? If so, shouldn't you be checking out forwarders in Sydney?

Bikermice, you might reread my post. I need to buy a bike to fit them to in Singa. Looking for advice as to what website is best for buying a bike?

The forwarding my company will do.

For brand new bikes, the only brand that has a comprehensive website for their bikes and prices will be BMW Singapore, otherwise you need to be hopping around the shops here.

For used bikes, try looking for it at www.singaporebikes.com garage sales.

    Have fun shopping.
