Hoping that starting this thread now means I'll actually be able to finish it upon returning; my last three attempts at riding the killer terrain we have in SE Oregon haven't quite gone to plan...once :lol2 :lol2 :lol2.

I'll add those ride reports via links at some point; mud from hell messed up the first, flats and stupidity messed up the second, and more mud from hell combined with a lost rider and broken bones messed up the third.

    Fourth time's a charm, right?

Likely won't update much as I make my way east as cell service out there is spotty at best, but rolling solo means tons of time for pictures, drone footage, and taking my time. I'll chime in when I can though.

Here's what I'm planning to do.

weather looks good for the next few days, but the forecasters history for the last month leaves some doubt.

Whatcha tryin to do, kill me :lol2 :lol2 Not gonna jinx it, but things looked great yesterday and I’m going to check again right after posting.

I can tell you this, if there’s an iota of moisture coming down as I make my way to the Owyhee, I’ll be riding asphalt or gravel. Will not do that gumbo mud from hell again :eekers:eek7:eek7

Care to share what hot spring that is? Eastern Oregon is likely my next ride, looking for good waypoints, and waypoints don't get much better than hot springs.

Of course, it’s Summer Lake hot springs, north of Paisley. I have lots of GPX tracks of this area, happy to share when I return on the 27th.

Though I’m sitting in a chair and actually haven’t even ridden yet (not ADV-F ) have to give a shout to @Joe Motocross for the adjusta. Frickin dig using this to cook over a fire.

Made it to Fischer Hot Springs, was a pretty easy day at only 110 miles or so. Ran into four new gates after leaving plush and private property signs, which is odd given this is a BL M Rd. No worries, just closed the gates after and kept going.

Have a great story about paying it forward. Was out here last year with my wife and packed a tarp as the tub leaks badly. Figured the same tarp would be here when I arrived, but I showed up and no tarp in an empty tub. I’ve camped at the Hot Springs several times and never run into anybody, as I’m looking around a Chevy Tahoe pulls up and it’s the people who camped next to me at Summerlake Hot Springs last night. They were going to camp here, but decided to move on and left me a tarp! So I filled the tub, and now I’m just waiting for it to cool down.

Oh, horse flies and skeeters SUCK.

Some shots from the day, way more on the real camera.

Just about perfection, sipping good whiskey in a natural hot spring with a sunset like this.

Stringing together hot springs across the OR Outback? You know how to travel in style. If you can call a rusty, tarp-lined tub style.

You know, I kinda am. Plan from here is to hit Fields for fuel, then likely go camp at Whitehorse HS. From there to the Owyhee where there’s supposed to be springs, we’ll see. Loop back to the Alvord HS the following night. Hit the Steens and camp by a lake, then head over to Hart Mountain HS. Finish at Summer Lake.
    Not bad, huh.
