I finish up the 213. These smooth roads keep urging my bike to go faster and faster.

I reach Highway 67. In the last 55 miles since I started down House Rock Valley Road, I've seen no one.
Now on the 67, I start to see the tourist traffic. I even pass a group of GS riders with BDR stickers going the opposite way.

I was elated to finally complete a route I've been wondering about for years.

Wow! Thanks for sharing that with me @couchtater. I'm happy you found a place to love living.

My evil plan is turn all of you into crack heads.:evil

    Thanks for coming along @ChazW.

Nah, I'm just getting stupider. I might show some good judgement before this trip is over.

Yeah, we'll be seeing the Vermilion Cliffs again, probably from new perspectives. Thanks, John.

I've been wanting to return to Saddle Mountain Trail Head for years. That's my goal for tonight.

It's getting late, so I'm trying to hurry...

...but how can I not stop along here for pics?

I choose a safer location for the tent.

Shortly after I arrived, the group of GS riders I passed earlier arrived. They must not have stopped for photos.
They were from Cincinnati. I think there were about 7 of them. They were nice enough, but had their own group dynamic going on,
so I didn't want to intrude much. They rode the AZBDR before finding this paradise. This was their 2nd night to camp up here.

The views up here are sweet. I can see the confluence of the Little Colorado River, which marks the start of the Grand Canyon.

I catch the last sunlight of the day on the Desert Facade. I am in the National Forest, but right on the border of the park only 1.5 miles from Point Imperial.

Not a bad view for a free campsite.

Who knew you could see so many brilliant aspens with the Vermilion Cliffs in the same shot? I can even see House Rock Valley Road from here.

    Day 4

I get up before sunrise and hike a short distance up to a nice overlook to watch sunrise. It was a chilly morning.

I make breakfast and take my time breaking camp.

The main road ends at a turnaround where several campsites are on top of the hill near the trail head.
There is a small overgrown 2 track that heads down the hill behind my camp. I know it's a dead end, so I take off to explore it.
I didn't think it went far, but it was about 1.6 miles long.

Oh man! This is awesome! Why didn't I check this out last night?! Does anyone else see the Shinumo Alter?

The road ends at a big open point with a view of the aspens behind me...

...and a huge 360 degree panoramic view! Next time, I'm camping out here!

    Heading back up the hill.

Shhhh!!! Let's not bring up the subject of rain... yet.:augie

I should be going slow enough for even you, @notsofasteddie, to stay caught up.

Hi Kelly!:wave Thanks for checking in. I'd fix my old reports, but no one reads them anyway. My life isn't interesting enough for a helmet cam, let alone a drone. :lol3

It was a beautiful morning to rip through the aspens.

I've never been to Marble View. Let's go see.

This was a fast and mostly straight blast through the forest.

    Almost there...

Marble View - You can clearly see the Shinumo Altar and the Eminence Break Fault on the opposite side of Marble Canyon.
The Vermilion Cliffs are to the left. The mountain in the distance left of center is Navajo Mountain - some 80 miles away.
The north-south cliffs that parallel Highway 89 in front of Navajo Mountain are the Echo Cliffs - about 30 miles away.
It was cool to sit here a while retracing many of the routes I've ridden in the past few days, and to consider new ones.

    This is amazing!

I was just in the same area a month ago on my 990.

So nice to "re-visit" the places in this RR - the pictures!

It's also interesting to read from someone who actually knew where they were, I was just rising around. Can see i have missed a few views.

About the 220 and 213 rocky climbs, yeah they are rough, but I couldn't see that in the dark. Rode the last part of them east-wards in pitch black, which was scary and stupid :-D

Nice! It's always been in the back of my head to ride the GC, but never dug deeper into it.

About the camping alone, have you had any close calls out there in the wilderness? Coyotes bothering you or anything like that? That's my biggest fear when camping alone..
