    G'day all,

Anyone got any details on the Alpine Rally for this year?
Not sure if it's still on, but I'm keen if it's a go'er.

They been doing it for over 40 years Australia’s longest running rally don't think they will stop any time soon

11th-13th June 2011 42nd Annual Alpine Rally NSW. Yarrangobilly Homestead; on the banks of the Yarrangobilly River, next to the Snowy Mountains Highway between Kiandra and Tumut.

    WOO HOO!
I'll be there, last time I went was 1985, christ it was cold.

Now to search for the long way there, via the most amount of dirt.

    Thanks for the info SYDADVGS.

You beauty. I've put this in the diary. Didn't make it in 2010 but had a great time there in 2009. Was very cold though!

I haven't done it since '78 - it was -6C IIRC, memorable for some goose popping a wheelie on his mate's chopper.... and the front wheel and lower forks fell off. It cost him all his front teeth as he landed and it dug in. Passed the bike on the way out, forks turned around, as they had folded under.... very cool looking.

Henning talked me into going to Vietnam last year when I caught up with him by phone for the first time in 15 years. Best trip I've ever done - so I reckon I'll come down for this one.

Nice selection of BMWTCNSW members there, I count at least 10 including me(my back to the camera in the lightcoloured jumper)

Left of view, tall bloke, grey hair?

I've spoken with him at so many rallies but I can NEVER remember his name?

Cheers Al. Maybe one day I'll be able to remember?
Nice fella, we've chatted around the fire on several occasions over the past probably 20 years. And my memory can only get worse, I s'pose.
