I was just contemplating why the Factory used soldered leads to the alternator brushes? Wouldn't it make more sense to have the leads provided with a ring terminal already soldered to it to make them easier to replace? I noticed EME offers a complete brush holder assembly with ring terminal brushes. How big a soldering gun does it take to R&R the brushes? I've got a nice Hakko iron for electronic work and a big old classic Weller 550 gun.
