It's the tourism high season of Tibet, my office in Lhasa is crowded and busy everyday. But also, it's the best time to ride in the year. I just cannot resist the call of the Tibetan sacred lake - Namtso. For more than 1400 years, Tibetan people walk around this lake in order to wash out all the sin in their lifetime and look for a better next life.

I've live in Lhasa for years, there's almost nobody knows the situation other than the small part of the Namtso lake where the tourists can visit. Also, I can find few information on the internet. Which means, need to go and check myself. :lol3

In a beautiful day, I stoped all jobs in hand. A friend (Chinese) finally have time to go with me (Taiwanese).:clap

My friend and his SUZUKI DJEBEL200 (before departure in Lhasa)

First we need to ride for a few hundred KMs to approach Namtso lake.
When taking lunch, we need some repack.

The TangGuLa pass, one of the 2 main triditional road pass to Tibet.
    Elevation higher than 4000m.

Before passing the final challenge - Nagenla pass - we cannot even have a glance of the sacred Namtso lake, the elevation of Nagenla pass is 5190m. :evil

We all have been to the Namtso lake for more than 100 times, but everytime we can only stay on the paved roads and the tourist areas.

This time , we will ride to the scared area.

Actually, I don't know why my friend took so much loggage on his Djebel.....
It's too much for his bike. :evil

    Elevation - 4700M

I didn't remember when my friend disappear from my rear-view mirror.
I radioed him and confirmed that he fell over into the stream.........

OK.....problems..... we are born to solve problems......

The point is, my friend was taking too much loggage and made the bike too heavy to take it out of water
... unless we unload all the loggage... :evil

It took us quite some time to unload reload check and dry up things, and the sun gently fall down into the other side of Namtso lake.....

    Oh..... it's beautiful.......... :clap

But that means we need to spend a night on the 4700m high pastureland of Tibet Plateau. :eek1

By night, we camped and burn yak excrement to make fire.
Yak excrement is somewaht precious in highland like Tibet.
No tree found here at the height of 4700m and the only thing you can burn to make warm is that. :huh

    The next morning...................

It's good that there's no wolf in this area........... :evil

We packed up and kept on going......to the area unknown...... :evil

On the way...we need to go arcoss many streams......
36 streams in this time, more in wet season..... :evil

Finally, we arrived the ancient GALAMU pass.
There, we can find lots of yak skulls and donation to the god Namtso. :norton

After passed the pass, it was really to our surprise!!!!

    There's a BEACH! Sand Beach!!! :eek1

The Elev. 4700m beach!? :evil Sounds great........

    OK, since there's a beach....we have to swim...right ? :clap

ur.........maybe the water is too cold for swimming....
At least we can rest and enjoy the sun here.....:clap

After enjoying the sunshine at the beach.....we should continue our adventure.......

I don't know when...again.......My friend disappeared from mirrir again....then I radioed him again..........

"WTF! you fall over again.....!?" :huh

hmm..........that means I need to turn back to save him ...again....
That's 10km on sand ..... and anothe 10km back..... :huh

Since I conquered Cambodia and Xinjiang roads.....sand is nothing to me..... :lol3

    After rescued my friend....we continued.....

What's the small black spot over there?
Oh! That's some kind of CREATURE....:clap
That's the first living creature after we entered this unknow area....

    A Tibetan.....and his sheeps..... :norton
    hmm....actually.....2 Tibetan.....

The 2 Tibean finally led us to their village.
We were so popular for KIDS.... :clap

    TO BE CONTINUED............. :evil

    Nice. Need. More. Pictures.

I like the last picture when the bike is taking a nap in the creek. You would probably pass out after carrying all that stuff for who knows how long...
