An X-Challenge, Husky and 640 go to Tahoe

Unlike many of you, I'm not much of a writer. In fact, I'm not much of a talker either. I'm a fairly quiet person who has enjoyed a couple of years of great trip reports and simply wants to add my small piece.

The premise behind the trip was to invite my buddies to our cabin for a weekend of riding our bikes in something other than an OHV park, like in San Jose.

Adam is on the Husky, Justin is on the 640.

We arrived in Tahoe at about 10pm and unloaded the bikes.

The bikes go beddy bye....


Morning comes and like you've seen in other reports; Polish boys like to show off their muscles...



The wife takes a pic before we leave and tells the boys that if I come back hurt they better not come back.

about 3 mies from the house we hit dirt and a small lake. We literally don't know where to go...We've never seen such open spaces that you can ride through. It's just a free-for-all...










I try to show the boys an old settlement (which we never even took a picture of), but all Adam does is complain that we're taking "gravel highways" and he wants to hit technical trails...

Some drama as Justin gets stuck in the bog.



Husky biatch decides that he is gonna lead us...even though he's never been here before or has any clue where he's going...and guess what...he manages to find a tough single track that eventually disappears.

We finally begin hitting our stride and find some fun trails.

ok, so there you have the video portion of our programming. Nothing exciting, but at least I learned how to post videos.

Let's see, what happens next...oh, yea...I get stuck.

Fun stuff.

The terrain changed through out the day. From hard packed dirt, to gravel to rocky sections, all the way to soft sandy sections near the lakes.

This was me at the end of day 1 - in pain.

damn, this posting takes a lot of time. I still have a bunch of pics from day 2 but perhaps that's enough...

P.S. That is a gnarly lookin tire on the back of the husky! What is it?

I think its an Interco?? I'm sure Adam will chime in with the exact model.

How many miles are you covering in a day?

Getting lost and ending up on dead end trails was a theme. Although I didn't have a mount for the GPS. I still brought it with me and whipped it out every-so-often.
