    Well

I did it. Just gave the nice man my card and i will be riding in Ireland Aug 14-30th. Doing the trip with Celtic Rider so everything is sorted for me.

Any advice for things to do or see on my wanderings?

Pluses for anything that involves whiskey and red haired, green eyed Mary Kathleen's and fine music.

    The west. The coast.
    Starting Bantry, Dingle
Back roads of Kerry rather than the Ring. And mostly stay on or around the coast.
As you will be there peak tourist, the hot spots like Kilarney and the Ring of Kerry will be busy. Lots more Rings and Gaps to ride.

Slightly inland is the Burren in Co Clare.

My favourite is Connacht, very wild and remote feel, to the north of Galway City a big university town, but in August the students will all be gone home, maybe the craic continues.

A day or two in Dublin is rarely wasted, to accliamtise after your flight. Lots of things for a tourist to do like Temple Bar, but I think a visit to Trinity College and have a look at the exquisite Book of Kells in the Library. Won't take long, but the book and the setting is worth it. No you can't borrow it.
You can acclimatise by riding the Wicklow Mts. There's Sally Gap and Wicklow Gap and Glendalough as well known places, but the Military road talkes you away from everyone else.
The Vale of Avoca is pretty.

Not on the coast, but I used to have to ride from Dublin (Naas, Co Kildare) across to Cork occasionally. Places on the way to maybe pause, Kilkenny, Cashel, Cahir. The Vee is not much of a geolocical feature on a global scale, but stands out a bit in Ireland. I could never avoid heading for MacGillycuddy's Reeks.

    Explore and enjoy.

    Well,

Trips over, have the following to report. IT WAS FUCKING AMAZING!!

Cant say enough good about Celtic Rider, the owner Paul, and the fleet guy Liam. I was treated like family from the moment i contacted them. Everything, and i mean everything was perfect. The bike (GS1200) the route, the accommodations, hell even the weather got its act together after a few days of rain riding. So if this sort of trip is on your list, please contact Celtic Rider and book with the knowledge the it is inmate tested and approved!
