Please keep us updated on your riding impressions!
I priced the BMW bushings a while back, if I remember correctly they where pricey.

Mine are finally installed! Only done 40mins riding on them yesterday, though feels a big improvement over stock. Bike feels much more planted. The suspension engineer who installed them claims that they were pretty easy to install (off road version).

I asked him what benefit I'd have with the ohlins over these... he said they're over kill and you pay a premium for the name as much as anything. The guy certainly knows his stuff so happy with that.

I need to find me a rear shock now which is compatible with my esa module.

I'm thinking of just going with a heavier spring for the time being. The rear shock on the f800gs isn't that bad, but needs to be set up for the rider.

I'm now in the process of dealing with Omnia Racing who didn't get the note on rider weight through ebay and picked a random number for me. I now have to buy the heavier set of springs, they haven't yet replied if the valving is different. My experience has led me to believe dealing locally or shelling out the $ for something different would have been the better choice. Bummer.

I almost purchased from them as well but didn't on gut feeling. I found a KTM dealer who could order the forks for me.

I have yet to get them and they are two weeks late but I've been promised they shipped from their supplier "yesterday".

If they show up and are in good condition and are properly sprung I'll drop a recommendation for the shop I ordered from.

    Hello everyone,

Just had the cartridges installed on F800GS, tech did some changes In the shop , but he said that the best way to get it on point is to do it and try it right away so I can see the difference...

Does anyone remember what was the standard setting on them?
If someone is around 170 pounds what settings you prefer on/off road, just to get a better picture about it...

    Thanks,

    Jasmin

Small update on this, just un boxed the 105/W17 version for the 08-12 F800GS with standard height. The instructions included a single page full color picture labeled "Correct assembling procedure of the Misano cartridge kit" and shows the spring at the bottom of the assembly. I know there was some questions and debate about the correct configuration of the cartridge.

I requested springs for 90-100kg and received conformation that they would be configured with the correct springs (and I have no reasons to doubt them at this point). Neither the springs nor the box have any indication of what springs were included with the kit. Hopefully my fork seals get delivered soon so I can start with the upgrades.

Mine came from Italy to Texas in 3 days with free shipping from eBay. Insanely fast, I couldn't believe it when I got the tracking info.

I ordered mine from Motowheels. I was afraid of using ebay if I had an issue.

I’d say good call... there are a couple things going for you there.
First, if something is wrong with the setup, I think Stephanie would catch it.
Second, if you have questions about the install, they’ll be able to help you Over the phone and email.
Third, if something is not right, you have a US company to work with.

All my reasoning behind using them. Plus I like supporting smaller businesses.

I'm really looking forward to installing these, I love working on my bikes.

Got a confirmation email yesterday that Motowheels has shipped out my cartridges.

UPS says they will arrive Thursday.

Does anyone know what weight and how much fork oil I will need to buy?

It's on a label on the end of the box. Mine (105/W17) called for Ohlins 01309 oil with 90mm air gap.

    Got my cartridges today!

    The instructions are GARBAGE.

Thanks to the pics posted by @raduklr I figured out the orientation. It is indeed spring down over the cartridge.

Looks great! Here's a tip, when adjusting the preload use a 6 point box end. I grabbed a 12 and it left small marks on the flats from the other points. Not a huge deal but wish I'd thought about it beforehand
