Does anyone know if the 590/595 are similarly afflicted?

Garmin is consistent in this regard: no tertiary (minor) roads past 0.5mi zoom scale.

Unless you have a 478. Those had road detail up to 1.2 miles.

Does anyone know how to get rid of those stupid mountains they overlay on mountain tops on the Montana topo maps?
I can SEE it is a mountain top by the contour lines- why does Garmin feel the need to cover the detail with a stupid mountain icon?

I swear my old Garmin GPS III and V had better road detail even though it was all black and white.
