    :wave Hi Everybody

Just want to introduce myself, I don't have a true adventure ride right now but I'm getting ready to take the plunge sometime soon (when finance's allow).

If you don't mind me hanging out on the boards, I'll even try and amuse yawl with a couple of trips I want to do on my little two-fiddy (hey, ya gotta start somewhere, right).

250's are adventure bikes. Let's ride! I started typing before reading and researching where is home? Local rides are good on a two fifty.

Ok, I just looked. Chains farm roads are great fun on your bike! See you there!

there have been plenty of adventures on smaller bikes

read leanings by Pete Egan or note that Vladimir Yarets went 1/2 way around the world on a jawa 350 2 stroke, there are plenty of stories of adv travel on 250cc and smaller machines. I believe them to be better in some circumstances as they will allow you time to smell the roses and you don't even have to stop.

    see you in April?

There was a woman 72 years of age who hiked the entire Appalachian Trail in a pair of converse tennis shoes, carrying a silk bag she had sewn from an old sheet, using a shower curtain for a tent. her thoughts on gear?, " Too many people spend their time and resources getting all the latest gear, then they never really go anywhere because they are out of money, out of time, or both."
wish I could remember her name

    see you at the farm

    Hey, thanks everyone:D

I've always believed that bigger isn't always better (sometimes out of necessity:wink: ), and have always been drawn to the smaller machines. You make your own adventures wheather you're on a two-fiddy VTR, or a big GS.

I'll have to take a rain-check for the farm in april...family responsibilities & weddings are going to keep me close to home, but, thank you for the invitation.

    Time to get to work...
    Peace,
    Gonzo
