On Engineer Mtn trail, or somewhere btwn Molas and Eng Mtn trl a few weeks ago
I may hit that tomorrow!
Only on the weekends. A few more years in the Front Range before we move permanently to Cedaredge. Applefest is next weekend!
Nice. Carl (CarlMega from our Monkeybutts) has a place over there now, with similar plans. Front Rangers are the new Californians! Ha!
I thought Carl lived in Durango still?
Man, if this loop doesn't hurt your back, what does?! I think I've gotten lazy w/the KTM suspension/tires or something bc that 6-mile descent is probably the ONLY thing that has made me actually feel a tight back all summer. Ooof. Think all my pedaling and huffing and puffing and HAB all summer has made me a wuss. That said, yippeeee that was a fun little loop this morn...thanks for the reminder about it. Didn't even have to pedal on the road. Hunting season means a lot of hunters who aren't in a hurry and pickup trucks w/room in the back for bike and rider.
Will probably try to get in another few loops up there in the next few weeks if any ya locals wanna tag along.
I think next Saturday I want to go up to Greysil and head down to Cascade. I'd be up for another Engineer ride if you go on a weekend.
@Omi Next Sat? This?
I was thinking of doing Molas/CT/Eng early tomorrow morn, or possibly Sat morn depending on wx in the morn. Omi or anyone else...welcome to join.
I'm probably not the best riding partner for Greysill DH, unless you don't mind some (a lot of hike a bike :) ) I mean there's always SOME hab but greysill muy mucho.
I can go this Saturday. So, out and back or down to Coalbank or Cascade? I'm down with whatever.
Kenosha Pass is a junk show but we kept going to Breckenridge so we didn't have to see the mobs again

This is me today on the Miccosukkee Greenway Trail outside of Tallahassee. There were no rock gardens, or steep slopes, but the trails were fairly empty so I could rip along at a good pace.
Temp was in the 60's and cloudy. As usual, the Haibike was a blast to ride.
Silverton has a ton of groomed roads all the way up to Eureka right now.
This thread needs a spring bump! Before the world as we knew it changed, I managed to escape for a quick two days of stellar weather on, of all days, Feb 29. I mean, how often do you get to ride Moab on that date?!? At that time I had already started planning for a full week of spring desert goodness...but alas, another day, another time. Still riding locally when weather permits - so I feel lucky in that regard that I still have trails right out the back door during these times. Stay healthy all!
I was able to ride pretty much all winter on my road and fat bikes. Some of the trails are starting to dry out here and I have switched over to my mountain bike about three weeks ago. With everyone staying at home, the trails have been very busy lately. Everyone seems to be keeping a distance, so I'm not very worried. I'm keeping the speed down due to the extra traffic and not wanting to get hurt, and it's kind of nice to go on a mellow ride for once. I think I'll go ride for a couple hours right now.
@Omi that is the most Sailing Hawks picture that could ever be taken.
It was nice to have a warm ish afternoon to dork around.
Pedaled the neighborhood..
Then played around on logs and rocks in the backyard
Had some good rides on the fatty this winter.
Ready for the good spring conditions now.
Timber Trail...Lory SP?
Good eye! Once the snowshoe and ski folk pass thru the trails are usu packed enough to pedal. Coming down Kimmons was fun but a bit sketchy.
The Valley trails are a hoot in the snow.
