Any off roaders in Trinity, Odessa, Land O Lakes Area?

Just getting back into riding and looking for anyone who likes to go off roading who could show me around the area. Building a new home in Starkey Ranch and trying to find local trails to mess around on for a few hours.

Not many trails in your parts especially with all the growth. Just a few places off the top of my head:
Croom
Green Swamp/Richloam
Citrus County Wildlife Management Area
Ocala Nat Forrest
and down south a bit is Bone Valley ATV Park
I am sure you will have more suggestions from others that do more off roading but that is a few.

Sounds good. My bike is still in the break in period and after that I will be ready to do some off roading. Does croom have a map with different rails and their difficulty?

Ah I see. I moved here from TN and rode Windrock when I lived there. They had a very detailed map with marked trail difficulty and everything. After a few visits it was very easy to read the map and get back to the vehicle by following the map and signs. If croom is just go wherever I will definitely need to bring a gps with Wikiloc or something. Or just follow someone around until I get a general idea of the place.

Has anyone ridden Gulf Hammock WMA. Entrance is near Inglis. The land is private and only open during hunting season but there’s a lot of public dirt roads.

Anyone going to Croom, Green Swamp or Richloam this weekend? I'd like ride somewhere Saturday morning. I'm a total newbie with a KLX250s and could use some dirt pointers/advice.

Yes I'm almost certainly going to Croom and perhaps Richloam if I have time also this weekend. I ride there on Sunday and go very early as it is a long way to/from for me (150 mile round trip).

Other locals here may be more qualified, experienced, better looking, and/or have better availability. With that said I'm happy to show you whatever I've learned and help you succeed or at least fail alongside you :)

I finally got my bike broken in and got my first oil change done. I'm game to ride whenever. I'd like to find some trails that are within 30 minutes from Tampa just to mess around on for a few hours. Does anyone know of any in the area? Croom is about an hour from me and I still have this stiff stock seat on my bike. I feel I need to toughen my butt up a bit before I make any long trips and ride all day =)

I'll be out joy riding today if anyone wants to meet up. @SwampyDeadHead If you're close to Tampa I live in Bexley community off 54 and Veterans. There's a very small off road spot off of 41 that I could show you if you want some practice in the sand. There are very small dropoffs that are fun to jump. It isn't much but if you're looking for stuff to practice on you might find it useful.
