Where did my 950 go this weekend? North Augusta :D A small town about 20 minutes off of the 401. I highly recommend ALL 9x0 owners get together and come camp here next June. Bike races, drag races, atv races, baja style truck racing and one heck of a mud bog. A few thousand people camping for the weekend, no cops allowed on site and many many many young ladies in daisy dukes and bikini tops. Heck the scenery makes this a worthy road trip alone :freaky

I dunno Dude, as long as my 17yr old daughter isn't there it would have been fun. Don't think I'm the average beemer rider.

Funny you should say that. 20 years ago I used to go to Trudeau for May long's. Me and my buddies were all commenting on how this felt just like the infamous Tweed weekends :D

How many clicks are you guys getting out of your chain and sprockets? Had mine turn into freaking silly putty on me last week. I knew it was on it's way out (been tightening it a few times before it went) but damn, when it decided enough was enough it sssttttrrreeettccchhheeedded BIG TIME.

    52k !!! WOW
Mine went silly after 24k. Was reading in the oc people are getting 8k from a chain and sprocket? I assume they have more cash than me as they also say they only get 3-4k from a 908 rear whereas I'll get 8-10 k out of one.
Going with Ironman sprockets and a good quality did xring chain this time around, hopefully make it last for a season and a half.

Do you know if anyone sells an aluminum chain guard for the adv's? My plastic stock one got eatin by the chain and I had to cut it off.

Wow you guys ridem to the bitter end.
I ussually change mine by around 15k. and run the sprockets for 2 chains.
It seems once you have to adjust it, then it's not too long that the rollers start getting loose and chewing the sprockets. I"m sure with more street riding or less cowboying you would increase the mileage a lot, never tried.

I'd rather not take the chance of snapping a chain and running it through the case or piling up in the rear wheel and killing me.

hey deadly, what's the chainguard for anyway. mine flew off about 15k ago? do we need one?

I don't suspect it's need although it certainly kept my loose chain from hitting the tire. Once it was removed the bike became unrideable as the chain started slapping all over the place. I'll go without but would like one again down the road. I see most bikes have aftermarket ones made from aluminum and thought it would be a better choice than the stock plastic one.

yeah, I would normally change the chain when I think it is necessary, it just wasn't there yet.
I never baby the bike, ride about 30% dirt 70% street, just really anal about maintenance and proper tension.

...plus I only use WD40 :evil
