Any Tassie ADV riders interested in weekend rides?
I'm in southern Tas and have mostly been riding by myself since
    purchasing my KTM 640 Adv.

Me and the other half spent 20 days going around the outside of Tassie. on a 950 KTM in Sep., Oct. `04'. We cant wait to get back down there ,absolutely our best holiday , great roads 2500km bitumen , 2000km dirt and we got really good weather. We got a set of Conti. TKC80 tryes from Legana Trye & Automotive the owners Mick & wife were very helpfull ,they matched the good price i could get at home just so he could have a look at my bike , LOL. Cant wait to go again.

Will be in Vic at the end of October for Moto GP at Phillip Island.
Should be available for tour guide duty at the beginning of Oct.
Might not be able to get away on weekdays , but will on weekends.
I can point you in the direction for some off road (and onroad) fun.
    :evil

I am on holidays next month , but it will be a bit cold and muddy still in August.

What ever , you will be guaranteed a fun time on two wheels in Tassie.

Ah memories....did a week loop in October last year. NOT A DROP OF RAIN for seven whole days. Best day was beach fishing at Granville Harbour and drinking beer with all the ab divers and watching the sun go down over the sea.

Was born in Tassie and am now trying to get back regularly. The Sydney ferry trip is brilliant as well.

Just got back some pics from Simpson Desert (?) trip..... and I've had enough of cold and muddy for the moment....

On the QAA line, 150kms west from Birdsville.... holed up, hoping the rain would ease..... it didn't and you can guess what the clay (swale) was like between the dunes......

mate (BG) in the pic was riding a GS12 :eek1..... on TKC's that were past their best... an' we all got good and wet on the way out with each bike doubling their weight in mud load....

Look forward to showing you some Tassie sights (can't promise much in the way of sand dunes) and tracks.
Have been riding and exploring every saturday for the last month or so , revisiting some area's that I've not been to for a few years.
How things change in just a couple of years.

Will post a few Tassie pics tomorrow if I get the chance.

Can vouch for Scott's tour guide capabilities...had an awesome ride yesterday with him S/W of Hobart.

Can see riding with him's gonna get expensive though...I close my eyes and all I see is orange....oh wait, the new 950 comes with some blue on it...

Thanks for the ride Scott, looking forward to the next...

When is the best time to travel to take in a mix of dirt and tar
and not get too wet/cold ?

    Cheers

The most settled time of the year is Feb/March , thats for sure.

Howdy Fuddy , glad you enjoyed the ride :D

    Here are a few more pics;

    Bridge over the Huon River.

We missed the rain from the morning , but it was still pretty wet on the ground.
Some of the Creeks and Rivers were really pumping.
