Is there any other place on the web that's more active for Reno area riding? Most of my riding buddies are out of the sport right now and i'm feeling a bit secluded now.

The Dustdevils are a good resource. A good mix of old guys and younger. Wide variety of bikes from hard core 2 strokes to Africa Twins. Oriented more toward dirt side of dual sport a little more than street. Web site provides a good bulletin board for major and impromptu rides. As with any club, you tend to meet new riders and fall in with those who have the best fit with your riding. Recent rides have included the Donner Summit snow tunnels and Downieville/Gold Lake single track. But there are also frequent day rides in the North Valleys and Pine Nuts, as well as multi day adventure camping or motel based trips to locations such as Mendocino NF/CA coast and Crater lake, OR. If interested check out the web site and attend a meeting 7:00 1st Wednesday of each month at Straw Hat Pizza, Old Town Mall on South Virginia across from the Atlantis.

For anyone, who may not already know, I-580 between Carson and Washoe Valley will be closed this weekend (11/17 and 11/18) Saturday and Sunday from 7am to 1pm. This means that all traffic will be diverted either around Sand harbor way, or through VC, or around USA Parkway. Anyone planning a leisurely morning ride on any of these fun roads may want to keep in mind that there will be added traffic, and some of the cages may be a bit frustrated in their attempts at a standard commute. Have fun out there and stay as warm as can be!

I need to sew some webbing into loops. Did it by hand last time and it worked, but pretty ugly and does not inspire reliability. Anybody here with a sewing machine willing to tackle that for me? Or better yet, anybody have a simple and reliable used portable machine (the more compacter the better) and willing to part with it for something like $50 to $60?

Thrift/second hand store - should find one for cheap.
I have one not sure it's good enough for webbing but we could try it.
