Make that warning to the cafe 11 or so bikes. This lurker is heading for the Big E for Saturday morning. Leaving tomorrow from Whakatane, taking minor roads to a cabin in Waipawa for Friday night, I was going to take a coastal route to Eketahuna, however if everybody is turning up before 9 then I will slab it down SH2 in the morning. Google indicated my planned route would be 4 hours from Waipawa to Eketahuna. I'll have to save that for next time Plan to stay somewhere in Eketahuna Sat night, if some one has a spare bed in cabin I would be keen, otherwise it will be a tent in the camp if all the cabins are full. Heading home via Whaunganui, Taranaki, Raglan and then across the island via Boyds in Hamiltion to drool over a 790. Should be home sometime Tuesday. Good little workout for the 950, and for me. Cheers Rex
Cool. I called the cafe and they're expecting us. I may need some bacon and eggs after 2 nights of this stuff Going to be interesting tonight..1 degree and morning frost forecast. Decided i would be better off sharing my tent to keep warm so have invited a small bottle of Johnnie Walker to join me. For medicinal purposes only of course. Might need to save some for the Desert Road. That's going to be nipply.
A small bottle of Diplomatico (Reserve Exclusiva) Rum has made it's way into my luggage. Don't know how that happened...
Funny.... I opened my pannier tonight to pack and there was 2/3 of a bottle of honey Bourbon in one. Forgot that was there. I might chuck some thermals in too, just in case...
I'll be there on Saturday morning. Will be riding down with a mate by the sounds of it. See you all there. There is accommodation in my back yard for anyone coming through Taihape tomorrow or sunday...
Looking like a nice weekend for a ride so we're going to head down. Aiming for Mohaka river camp tomorrow then a few backroads down. Won't be there for coffee but will be staying at the Eketahuna camp Sat night & on for beers & dinner. Cheers Clint
Looking forward to this. Packed the bike tonight. Heated grips installed a few weeks ago. All set. Cabin booked. Woot
woot woot, see you soon... I'm loaded and have ridden to the office to await your arrival. Pic of the lovely sunshine as I was to leave for the office.
