Hey all, I'm staying at the hostel in Ouray for a couple nights planning on doing a couple day routes on my 1190r.
Hoping to do Engineer/Cinnamon/Corkscrew one day and Ophir/Imogene the other with stops in Silverton and Telluride probably.
Seems like Ophir/Imogene may be ill advised to do solo but I would really like to give them a try.
Wouldn't mind suggestions or a riding partner or two.

The timing might not work for your schedule but I am planning a Friday & Saturday moto camp trip doing some of these routes. I'm going to camp in Silverton Saturday night, and probably around Ouray Saturday night.

I’ll be in the area that weekend... but will be with a group of my Goldwing friends, so we’ll be asphalt only.

It's up to your own comfort level, but I might suggest skipping Imogene on the big bike.
An alternate would be taking Ophir Pass from east to west (550 to 145), then 145 south towards Rico and Bolam Pass back over to 550. Bolam is a bit more remote and, though steep, nothing loose. Imogene (IMHO) is a bugger from either direction. Ophir is steep/loose on the Ophir side, so I prefer going down that.

Thanks for the advice, as most of us do I like to think I'm a decent rider. I've done Webster, Tincup and Hancock on a big bike so who knows.
I think I'll do the alpine loop the first day and see how that goes. If it seems pretty easy I'll give Ophir a shot and then maybe Imogene depending on how I'm feeling.
Weather looks like it could be an issue as well. Not going to attempt Ophir or Imogene if it's wet at all.
Bolam to Telluride and then Last dollar to Ridgway can be the backup.

Stay off Last Dollar Road if it's wet. Better off on Ophir in the rain.

That one deep mud puddle under the tree is a stinker when wet, at least on a big pig GS, or so I recall!

Josh - we are in D-town for the weekend. Maybe the Ranch tomorrow afternoon?

Sounds good. I'll be ready for a beer by the end of this week. I'll look for you this afternoon.

Last Dollar Rd was fantastic this last Thursday morning. Rode it from north to south. It was dry and perfect. I saw the locations that looked like it would be like ice when wet.

Is anyone going to be in the area the next few days? I will be there this afternoon until Sunday. Riding solo. It would be cool to link up and ride with someone.
