I thought it was interesting in the Revzilla review, they mentioned that Aprilia is still taking input and may make minor changes/improvements before the first bikes are imported to the USA.

This bike looks and sounds awesome, I want one.
Kinda wondering if I should trade in my FZ09 that I've now got sorted almost exactly how I want it. :hmmmmm

I test rode an MT-09 and to be honest, I was underwhelmed. The transmission was notchy and power, while good, was not what I expected.

The 100HP from the Aprilia should be a ton of fun.

Yes, some reports of a slight lull at 4K to 5K RPM in second gear speculated to be emissions-related since it isn't present in the RS660.

Bump, haven't seen any for sale yet in the U.S. :dunno

Man, I have some $$ to burn. Really wondering if I should pull the trigger.

None have arrived at dealers yet. Estimates put them at 2-3 weeks away still. When they're closer, the dealers will get VINs assigned in their system, and that is still to happen.

Yeah, just sick of buying a cheaper bike and trying to modify it to work like the expensive ones.

    I'll post up if I do :gun1.

I rode the trusty V-strom out to the local Ape dealer today. Asked some questions.

They have plenty of the V4's on the floor but no 660's.

Main sales dude said we have one in the back.

Well he brought me back and they had 2 RS660's. One customer was already spending $3 grand in suspension upgrades. Baby vomit color. The other was the red blue one. Damn, what a nice RS. Sold already. He says they are presold as soon as he gets them!

But they have a T660 coming next week (sold).

    AND some demo bikes. :clap

It may be a few weeks but at least I'm going to demo ride one. Don't care for the red wheels and seat but we will see. :hmmmmm

He said no discounts. So I'll have to pay the destination charge to boot. :(

I was at an Aprilia demo event at VIR yesterday. I had signed up to ride the 660RS but I was caught up riding my own bike and missed my time slot.

However, I sat on the 660 Tuono and RS back to back and there is minimal difference in the riding position--maybe the handlebar is 3/4 inch higher. Given the better looks, wind protection, and components of the RS, unless someone were trying to save a little money I can't imagine picking the Tuono over the RS.

Saweet! Yeah, they don't look much different at all ergonomically. Higher windscreen on the RS??

Local dealer was full of it. Still no Tuono and no demo rides. :cry

Probably good thing anyway. I need a new AC system for my house here pretty soon.

Maybe should look more like the 125.

Yeah, I didn't take a profile comparison but the RS is at least twice the height.

Well, the local dealer finally got a bunch of Tuono's in. Around 5 it looks like.

I got an OTD price of around $11,800.00. He said no discounts and all the fees. Yikes.

Sat on one and went vroom vroom a few times. My riding experience. For that $$$ I'd rather have a BMW F900XR.

@dtysdalx2 did it sound good when you went vroom vroom? :lol3

What's your impression of the riding position vs. an RS? I read above @Patek say he thought the difference was minimal, but it doesn't look like that when you have the bike images side by side.

I'm getting a veterans discount and put a refundable deposit down today on a black Tuono 660. It's my bike if I want it after a test ride.
The BMW F900 is a beautiful bike, but it's BORING, everything is an option with BMW so get the premium pkg and you're starting over 12k easily. Not exactly the same money for a boring bike. Literally YMMV.

I forgot to add, I saw a Triumph Trident today at this dealer, and that bike is a very, very good looking ride. I did a double take and if I'm not feeling the Tuono 660 in person...I might take it for a spin. ;)

I wish I had done a side shot. Sitting on it there was almost no difference. Maybe riding one for long distances you can feel the difference but the foot pegs I believe are in the same location.
