I've been down the old railroad bed before but never up that hill. That was a hoot! I'm wasn't expecting the rocks to move underneath you, some of which are decently sized. They aren't planted like the ones at Brock Creek.

Yep, the most entertaining stuff was a few miles to each side of that bridge in Shirley.

Yes that is definitely a pretty unique area to ride. The uphill section was pretty much as I remember it. Doesn't look like it has changed much. Sorry I missed it.

I was able to join the Bootlegger ride that Scotty puts on last Saturday. Was a great day for riding with cool temps and no dust until late in the day. Rode from Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge to Jasper and back. Took some video of the trail that runs along the Buffalo River over by Erbie Campground.

I recently realized that I did not have the dates quite right on the Long Pool event. I also became aware that the Rally at the Rock ride was the 11th -13th of October. I would like to move the Long Pool dates to the 18th -20th so as not to conflict with the Rally at the Rock. If that is a problem for anyone let me know.

Last weekend myself, Bo, Scott, Hayden, Michael, and Neil rode the Long pool tracks. There were a couple Blocked trails on the LP 40, but the LP 36 was a nice way to finish the afternoon. We were able to make all the water crossings (Hayden had a little problem with one). It is a small bike route for sure. Mud holes, rocks, long hill climbs, and several water crossings made for a great ride!

I have vacation 11th-13th so I plan on riding/camping Long pool that weekend. I may be able to make the Saturday ride 19th (depends on work) but will not be able to camp. Sounds like a bunch of great riding opportunities coming up. Anyone not riding the Rock is welcome to ride with me.

Sounds like you had a great ride. Glad to hear you have a track nailed down. I will just leave it schedule for the 11th - 13th for now.

What sort of fuel range will be needed? I would really like to ride my XR600, but still have the stock tank on it, which limits range. I've gone 100 miles on it but doubt I get much more than that.

Thanks for posting the tracks Tommy! Not that it matters to me but it might to some that both small bike tracks show that they are directionally going to Hector. Do you have in mind which one is the return track?

Morning ride is to Hector, Hector 41 tracks. After lunch will be doing Hector 36 tracks back to Long Pool. If you noticed I started the morning track at the Tat shack by accident, figured everyone will be at long Pool for the start and we would pick up the track fairly quick.
