Did Will determine if he could buy a sheet of bubble down there? Or will he need to bring one with him next time?

8 and 10, though we also got well outside Medellin where I don’t think you’ll find much filtering. With some careful planning I think you could come up with a route though.

How much was the bike rental? I expect a bit less than rates in europe.

I think we were paying $65.00/day. That included 2 types of insurance, helmet, jacket and gloves.

For the most part the bikes were great. I really wouldn't have wanted anything bigger for the roads we were on the vast majority of the time. We rode 1 true highway on our way back to Medellin where a bigger bike would have been nice. The Hondas topped out at around 123 kph ...at least that's what hooligans Will and Scribe reported. They buzzed along at 100 (or more) for a couple hours fairly easily.

There are tons of possibilities Kris. After Will and Sribe and myself split up I spent a lot of time traveling with my friend Catalina. We traveled exclusively by bus to a lot of different places. While doing so I met several groups of guys traveling via motorcycle from different cities in Colombia. They all said the same thing ...lots of varied types of roads all around Colombia.

Hey Scribe and Will, remember how Jeff said Salento wasn't worth going to because there was nothing there and it was too touristy? Wrong! It was a great place. Will, you would have loved it. One of the first places I found had about a dozen pool tables, 1/3 with pockets. And what was downstairs?

About a half dozen tejo courts, plus cheap beer.

Salento also had some of the best street food too. The chorizo was the best!

You're right Kris. After the trip I needed to make some additional $ so I have a new business here.

Catalina and the guide we had from the day and I played a lot of tejo and drank a lot of beer. We doubled the size of the explosive packets we used too!!! Great fun till C thought I was getting too friendly with our "guide."

We're in the airport in Armenia waiting for our flight to Bogota. I'll be there till March 3. By then I expect the weather will REALLY suck. Typical for when I return.

Billy's Dad was the reason I got back on two wheels. He used to come by the machine shop I used to work at in Fayetteville on his GS and make my mouth water. :tb
I know almost no one in Siloam, because I worked in Fayetteville and spent all my spare time in the garage or at the track at Hallet, if we went out it was usually in Tulsa. :dunno

Glad you guys took the chance to see what it was all about. Those little 300xre ‘s are perfect for the Colombian backroads that are so much fun. Thanks for sharing your pictures here, was wondering if you would be doing a report of some sort after seeing you post up in one of the current Colombian ride report threads.

    Good stuff!

Ride, Who does that? Anyone thinking of riding Saturday? It should be warm enough for even the Arkansas Natives, maybe not the transplants from Texas though. :jack
