Makes sense. I decided to go back to a road helmet for now and bought an Arai Defiant X. Same internal fit as the XD4.

Not as roomy or comfortable though, at least in Small (I also have both).

    Any updates on this?

Bought my XD4 in 2015 about this time of year, I like to stick to replacing 5 years from date of first wearing, love everything about the 4 (replaced my XD3) I am 100% Arai since my first "F1" back in the 90's, quality is second to none, and after they went to more of a European head shape in their top of the line stuff the small fits me like a glove (used to wear Med in Quantum DF due to rounder head shape).

Indeed. I just picked up an XD-4 from cyclegear yesterday. MFG date 12/19 and has a Snell 2020 sticker!

I went to their website and asked the question through their contact us page, If more people do this they might get things moving quicker.
This was the response I received.

    Thank you for your inquiry.

We do intend to release a new and improved XD5, in the future, but because of the current situation with COVID-19, we are unable to give you a date. When a date is determined, we will make an announcement, so please keep an eye on our website and social media until then.

We hope that this has answered your inquiry. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again.
    Kind regards,

I asked as well. The response was:

"Thank you for reaching out! We are currently developing a replacement for the XD-4, but we are yet to receive any details on what will be new on this model or when it will be available to the public.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns!"

Guess I'll have to wait a little more to replace my 2014 XD4

I hope they make the visor optically correct. The Hornet is perfect visually out of the vidor, but heavy and hot.

May be time to switch to the Klim helmet for the lightweight.

I just asked and got this reply
Thank you for reaching out! There is an updated version in the works, but we are yet to receive any timeline from Japan as to when it will be available.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns!

I wouldn't expect the new helmet until some time after the old ones are all on sale at a good discount.

I contacted arai support and this was the answer I got:

    Dear Albert,

    Thank you for your inquiry.

These are strange times indeed. We hope that you and your loved ones are in good health.
Arai currently has no plans to introduce a Tour-X5 model within the coming year. Like many, we too are experiencing delays and cancellations in many areas. We apologize for not being able to provide you with a clearer answer at this time.

We hope that this has answered your inquiry. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

    Kind regards,
