I'm normally not real big on planning. Do it all day at this damn desk and bike wise I much prefer to just point in a general direction and get there when I get there and have as good a time as possible when I arrive.

Not everybody's style but it works for me and it goes a long way toward explaining why there are pics of my daughter and I and my riding buddy PC a couple years ago snoozing on the floor next to the laundry machines behind the hotel in Destruction Bay buried in this thread somewhere.

Might just consider a phcall or two ahead of time this go round though. And I'm thinking I might like to stay at 40 Mile that first night instead of Tok. Nice cabins, clean, steam bath, etc. Almost seems like a time capsule from decades back when you stay there. Even the magazines in the cabins are from the 40's.

Gotta remember this time that bacon and eggs was $17 a pop last run through. Ain't like Costco's right around the corner ...and that's one of the best things about it.

Then again, I never have been to Eagle either.

I'm trying to work it in to my schedule. Toddy is in Bishop, CA with Vic tonight. Are you still planning overnight at Gracious? That would make an extremely short first day. Keep me posted, I may be able to do it if I can shave a day off each end. Barb

A friend and I will be going to Dawson for sure. The plan is also to go up to Inuvik prior to landing in Dawson Friday evening. If the weather is really bad we may ditch the run up to Inuvik, but the plan is to do it. We will be taking it a little slower than Fite is planning though. Most likely we will stop at Eagle Plains both coming and going rather than try and come all the way to Dawson from Inuvik in one day. At any rate we'll see the crew in Dawson.

Sounds great... we will see you up there somewhere/sometime. Our group plans to be back in Dawson Thursday night. Banquet is on for Friday night at the Downtowner (7:00?) Field games after dinner. Posting at midnight.:deal

Barb...meet us in Tok on Sunday night or Dawson on Monday night.....do the "Dash" and D2D and head home. I have a date with Miss Daisy starting on Sunday the 19th so I'm going to head out of Dawson on Saturday morning and run all the way back in. Working sucks. :cry

    Fighter,
My plans are still firm to make the Dempster Dash. I have reservations in Dawson at the Downtowner, tentative plans should have me arriving in Dawson sometime Sunday.
Do you recommend my making reservations in Eagle Plains?

JB.. that makes sense to me. We are getting reservations for Tuesday night in EPlains and (as of last night) we have decided on rooms in Inuvik for Wednesday night due to skeeters and the need to roll out early Thursday AM for the return back to Dawson. Fite

Any recommendations for lodging in Inuvik? I think there is only 1 choice in EPlains right?
