It was Alabama. Glad I'm back in Alaska! :eek1
Glad to have you back Bubba K'Toum ya!
I've got a question for you.....Your tail light on the Adventure. What is it? Stock? Aftermarket?
Mr Friar made a evaluation on our last ride. You're light is brighter than mine, I hate being the dim one....DUH!
I installed one of the 1157 LED bulbs prior to the eval, and it didn't improve real world lighting. Man that sucks...........
Funny that mine was brighter cuz actually one of the filaments in the bulb was burned out. There was a red indicator light on my instrument panel that indicated a burned bulb but both tail light and break light were working. It wasn't until Mike Levalle at TMS told me that the computer can sense if one of the filaments is burned. Sure enough when I removed the cover one was burned. I changed it with a bulb purchased at Shucks....problem solved....no more red indicator light on the dash. I have an extra one if you need one.
Somethimes technology sucks!
This is one of those times!!!!!
Oh could you deliver it? I'm a bit sceeered to ride with a dim bulb, and the light is worrysome too!
are you sure that you didn't put a 24 volt one in
I guess it requires more than one candle power? Sometimes it just doesn't pay to buy the "good" stuff........
Hey check this out. It fits the abbey's needs.
I won't be doing the Dash this year, but did the research for Inuvik.
Here is the place to find all you need to know except where everyone else is going to stay.
OR for bed and breakfast's
JB..nothing set in stone as of yet. Little Dick from Dawson and owner of the Downtown Dawson Hotel is setting it up for us. He is flying into Anchortown tomorrow for a pre-D2D strategy meeting. I hope to have an answer by Wednesday. When are you leaving?
Gus.. where did you come up with that picture of Fighter and the Colonel's SkyRanch???? The boss claims I've been riding way too much and neglecting the maintenance. I told her I would do the yard and touch up the paint when I get back from Dawson. I think that's fair.
Fighter, thanks for the update. I will be leaving Lawrence Kansas June 4th or 5th planning on getting into Dawson Sunday June 12th. I have reservations at the Downtown Dawson Hotel for June 12, 13, & 17. The Downtown Dawson Hotel is fully booked on June 16th so I am currently on a waiting list for a room there for that night. Put a good word in for me with Dick and maybe it will help me get a room on the 16th.
As a side note I did call and make a reservation at the hotel in Eagle Plains and the lady there said I may not be able to make it if the ferry is not running?
Has the weather been bad or the river still frozen?
Hey Jay Bird
Well we have a room on the 16th with floor space available by the inch how tall are you? and you have to bring your own pillow.
WTF is there a meeting tomarrow or Friday? Ace e-mailed me about Friday
Sounds like "Little Dick" is coming to town. I'll get Ace to post the updates right here. Fite
We will find you a spot in Daaawesome for the 16th. As for the ferry not running on the way to Inuvik, time will tell. Either way..... it will be an adventure. Stay on this thread and we will keep you up to date on the hotel situation in InYourVick.
Typed in Shacks on googlie and found this jewel.:eek1
Didn't even think it was real..... Much less a landmark of the Gruverhood....
Now about the meetin,,,,when????
Is there going to be a D2D and - meetin? Or ??????????
Fighter, you may remember meeting me at the bike show, KLR riding tall guy talking with Drew.
Anyway, due to an amazing turn of events and a very wonderful wife I have received a kitchen pass for the 16th, 17th, and 18th of June.
If I hit Dawson early evening on the 16th and leave early AM on the 18th will I make most of the fun and festivities?
I will be tent camping any recommendations on campgrounds in Dawson?
What kind of time am I going to be able to make between Tok and Dawson?
Anyone else on a condensed schedule? I will probably leave Anchorage around 6AM on Thursday.
