perfect man I have a great bike for you!!!!
I'm actually IN the market for a 990, and have been kinda lurking the F/S section all year. Not ready to pull the trigger yet but very close..... I'm listing a few of my bikes that I don't ride much(or at all unfortunately) to clear a spot. I usually only ride small dual sports and or 600/650s but have been stretching my ride distances more and more thus the desire for a bigger bike. I've yet to meet or talk to anyone that did not like the 950/990.
Its YOUR market man, you can pretty much get whatever you want. Just look for the one with the most farkles that you’d be buying anyway.... cuz we’ve ALL added stuff, its just which stuff do you want.
Yeah I'm kinda seeing that....and I'm not a farkle guy! Haha. Honestly, I really like the 950 just as much, and being a carb guy, having the FI is not a must. I'm looking for something that has beem maintained, riden hard but loved...not abused and put away wet. A garage queen doesn't make me want to pay more, I want to make sure it has been updated and tested! It's a winter wonderland here in Michigan so i have all winter to keep looking...Plus I still have to sell my Yamaha and Honda.
I'd like either of them. My 990 has 77k on it. Out of all the new bikes, I think I'd rather have another 990. Too bad y'all are on the other side of the country.
I bought my 26k mileage, 2010 Adv for $9000. I LOVE IT.
For me it’s a case of wanting a bike capable two up. 690/701 obviously don’t work and the 790 soon to be 890 is just to complicated.
I have bought a T7, it’s a good bike BUT I won’t be selling the 950 anytime soon
My 990 is part of my three bike solution, large twin, thumper, and 250-300 2T. They all have their favorite terrain.
The combination of power and offroadability of the 950/990 is intoxicating. It's hard to get excited about these new mid-weights when they weigh the same and make less HP than my 990.
Just about the only thing compelling me to upgrade someday is better/smoother EFI.
Oh, so you're saying you want to buy my '06 950 then. Too bad it's not for sale.
I would think the newest one you could get would be best....
Regardless of mileage
I know it's only a concept at this point, but the Husqvarna Norden 901 seems a legitimate successor to the 950/990 ADV. If that hits the market it seems likely that selling a 990 won't get any easier. So many people fancy the "latest and greatest".
Agreed DS , not keen on the headlight but EVERYTHING else looks amazing, difinately a 950/990 replacement.
Bought my 2013 baja 1 year ago for $10000.00 Canadian with 40000km. Was like new and sure glad I did amazing beastly bike.
I had the 1190R before and loved it a lot. Because of a busy job and all kind of other reasons I didn't ride it enough, I decided to sell it.
Not much time after, I had a very strong feeling that I was missing something... I thought I'd do well to buy a cheap old bike and not much later there was a Aprilia Caponord 1000 in my shed. Felt good for a short time, but there was nothing to compare with the feeling I had with the KTM. I sold the Aprilia and now there is a lovely 990SMT of the last series in my garden. Black with an orange frame.
The 990 feels great and brings back a big, big smile inside my helmet! Even when I'm not riding I enjoy having her.
So does this mean you'll have to change your screen name now?
Exactly. Heavy and planted to light and leapy, cover the spectrum.
Wow, my 990 never has looked that good! My son keeps laying her down for afternoon naps!
Hard to believe shes only worth $2K Gonna keep her around for a while for sure. Many miles (70K) of great adventures and and many to come.
Actually...I like to keep you puzzled....
