Are these grooves in the middle of my Kenda K761 a wear indicator?

It's occurred to me that the grooves running up the middle of the Kenda K761might be wear indicators, any ideas? Either way, I have a new rear tire coming as it's pretty close to done I think.

Could be a wear indicator. That said, neither of these tires look close to being "done".

No question the front is good, it’s the rear I am kind of on the fence about. I may switch it out before my 2800km trip, and def switching it out before the longer fall trip

The K761 tire wear indicators aren't grooves; they're bumps.

A few places around each sidewall will be small letters "TWI" under a triangle pointing to the tread. Follow where the triangle points to the grooves in the tread. There will be a lump in the groove. That lump is the tread wear indicator.

Unless they've changed the K761 these past few years. But one of your pics shows the sidewall "TWI" mark.

Many tires now show where the indicators are with "TWI" on the sidewall.

almost all wear indicators are bars or bumps that contact the pavement rather than groves that disappear.
