Is there a way of posting without buying a SmugMug account? I've got some too.

got back this afternoon after some great riding in Flag. Codewheeny, CrashDbad and I rode out this morning with Rogue, had breakfast in town and then left Rogue for home. Nice ride around Lake Mary and through Payson to Fountain Hills and around to Cave Creek. Here's a few pics of the fun and leaves.

I headed up Saturday morning for the promise of coffee and a burrito (sorry to the guys I was supposed to meet in Anthem, couldn't find the Starbucks so headed north)

Lots of bikes by the time I got there. Glad to see some things are universal for ADV Riders "Leaving promptly at 9:00" means "...or so..."

With some great maps from Rogue we headed up to Lockett Meadow. Some fools thought I knew the way and followed me. We made it, just ran the circuit in reverse. Lockett is amazing. I had no idea that AZ had such altitude and forests. Here I was, all ready to tease the AZ idea of a tree and then we saw this...

Nice turn out at the top (and I mean top, 8,700' or so).

Rode some nice gravel roads, a few had some wash outs and other ruts to make it interesting, but everywhere were those trees.

Back to town for a typical healthy lunch of burgers and fries

then an afternoon ride before heading up to camp. Rogue had the coffee brewing for those not staying the night...

...and Dan brought a delicacy for a snack, pickled sausages in genuine plastic wrapper, mmmm,mmmm...

Some tasty freeze dried casserole and a large can of Dinty Moore (shared with sidecar doggie) and we were set for the night. Goodbye to the visitors...

and around the campfire with some anti-freeze

The camp site ws not a place I wanted to do a lot of exercise...

but the area was amazing with the boulders, aspens, and even some moss (made me feel at home)

Great ride and I appreciate the efforts of Sir RogueScout to organize this herd of cats. Nice meeting all of you and look forward to more riding to come.

There are some free photo hosting sites, or you can attach a picture to a post here on AdvRider, but only one picture per post.

Smugmug is a really great site, though. If you do lots of photos, I'd suggest an account. enter my email addr (JimCassidy@mail.com) and this coupon code PaE7Es1Oh5JPw for $5 off.

These are from the ride home on Sunday. I road to Williams on forest roads and small two lane. I only had to get on I40 for one mile. From Williams I went south to Jerome. I had such a good time this weekend I am already planning for the next adventure.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>

Ural didn't make it home. It is sitting at the Chevron on Hwy 74 and I-17 :ruskie This makes the $75.00 I spent to get the flat on my 650 fixed this weekend seem pretty insignificant.

K just got this back from the shop having the engine rebuilt at ONLY 2,700 miles which took 11 weeks. WTF!!! Guess the guys at the shop didn't think that a stripped head gasket bolt was a big deal. On the way home, when the bike got hot enough to loosen the seal on the head gasket the cover got finger loose. I have no idea what the blown hose thingy ma'bob there is but I am sure it has something to do with it. I tried to tighten the bolt, but it just spins.

    Here we go again.

Besides that, WHAT A FUN WEEKEND :D Thanks again Rogue for helping get us organized!!!

Thanks Rogue for all your efforts and arrangements! Really nice to have such a great turn-out.

Nice meeting some new folks and seeing everybody again.

Hi all, I managed to get the Quota to a shop, Thanks to the two ladies with the truck/trailer ..I am so bad with names, but big kudos to them and after the 75-buck tube change, I was back on the trails in about a hour after you all left.

I rode with some of the people and got the 'Guzzi dirty. Next time, it's gonna be a real dual-sport bike under my butt. :wings

Perfect weather, lovely scenery, fun people!

Joke of the evening around the campfire goes to Brain Brian hands down, particularly with his killer deadpan delivery: Well, she's got worms and I really like to fish.:lol3

Hey Mr. Brain, would you mind sharing your route from Flag to Williams. Done the route from Williams to Jerome enough to recognize that.

    Later, Brian.
