We are doing a little dual sport thing this weekend and want to invite some heavy iron along...the distination is Harquahala peak.

This is a really cool spot that is not far from phoenix but not well known. The peak is the tallest "desert" mountain in arizona at around 4500 ft and the road goig up is steep but no problem for the heavy stuff. The 360 degree view at the top is spectactular and will make a nice camping spot. We have a chase truck going along that will haul wood, as there is nothing up at the top to burn...but bring everything else you think you will need. If you dont feel liike camping, come anyway as you will enjoy the trip.

The final plans are still in the process ...here is the link to our local board.

Well, It seems this ride is falling apart a bit, Jim has hurt his back, John is recovering from surgery, Micheal and Matt are working and havnt heard from Steve for a few days( or anyone else for that matter), I'm bummed !!
going to make the best of things and hopefully get together with a "new freind" for an overnight ride anyway.
Hey Matt, Keep us posted about fire issues in your area OK, I dont think there is any place allowing fire right now and from what I saw on a street ride through Wickenburg/Jerome/payson last week alot of the forest is posted "no access" as well as most of the Verde river( which means no kayak camping either), looks like a mostly street bike type of summer we're in for.

as I know the forest will be closed for quite a time, me tinks.
Yesterday's paper said, "we're living on an island in the middle
of a gasoline filled lake". No shiite.:(:

no seriose plans for this trip, heading out there monday and will be camping where ever I decide to quit for the day, may stay out as long as a week before returning to the furnace, I do plan on running PCH from Morro Bay to at least Monterey, perhaps further, where there's twisties is where I'll be.

Check with steves1150...they usually stay in MB, and come meet us somewhere around Monterey for lunch. Last time it was Moss Landing. But there are better places.
