I haven't been watching the FS closures in your area. How bad are they? Here in the northwest part of the state, it has not affected us to severely but I expect it to get a lot more restricted if we don't get some wet stuff soon. Even our forests are in BLM and have not gone further than stage II restrictions. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
The Kaibab and Coconino are becoming a challenge for travel.

OP, I'm in the valley, and won't have time to plan any rides up your way till Sept when I get back from my Ak. trip, but would like to connect with you privately to see about getting up there in the fall and doing some off road riding on the dirt with the 1200GS.

I know nothing about that area or where to ride but would enjoy being shown some nice riding trials/roads. BTW, nice pics, keep them coming.

I heard on the news the other day that pretty much the entire rim will be closed for the summer. But i don't see the closures extending out by Bill's house. Most of it is closer to Payson ending around Knoll Lake.

So far I have not seen any closures in the forest by me but my understanding that BLM land is closed.

Sounds good and shoot me a PM

My door is always open and by then the fire danger should not be a issue and I love showing people the area.

Luckily, none of my routes traverse BLM (orange) land. :thumb

Seriously, watch out for wildlife on that road at dusk. There will be critters on the road.

I ask Julio for his expertise but from my looking most of the area by me is still open.

Not to say it won't be closed later but we always have the pavement options if they do.

    Thanks

    Thanks.

Black Mesa - Lakeside station is not close to Bill.
Springerville station does not pose any problem with the routes detailed.
Alpine station, problem. :( But that's only for those that wanted to do the additional 3 forks loop which is the 2nd longest loop (180 miles) it should not effect the Super Loop that goes into Alpine.

    Thanks Julio,

Let's hope for early rain. At least the weather is cool, I can't believe that the valley is only in the upper 90's

Are the roads still able to be traveled or are they closing all access completely?

I just called the Alpine District on the Apache-Sitgreaves and she said closed means closed. No vehicle travel in closed areas, she said you can't even walk through the area.

Gila National Forest is still good to go, around Reserve, east and south..

I go to the Forest web page for good info.

At this rate I would think that most of the forest will be closed until we get rain. At least till mid July. May just stick to blacktop till then

    NomorBills,

You are right, straight from the horse's mouth is probably best.

We will deal with the conditions whatever they may be and have a great time no matter what they are.
