When Navy has their running game working right, they are impressive. Army can get it going on the ground too. Navy passes respectably. Army cannot pass for schidt. A few teams have figured out Navy's running game and have beaten them handily. AFA is one of them. AFA also beat Army pretty easily. The only other common opponents are Temple and ND. Army beat Temple. Navy lost to Temple. ND drubbed Army. Navy edged ND.

This used to be a fun game to watch just for watching young men play their hearts out. The talent disparity of late though has rendered it a bore fest. Army has a pretty good defense. It could be entertaining this year but if Army falls behind early it will be a yawner.

i played for Army under Homer Smith and then Lou Saban

i think our motto way back then was "we may not be big but we're slow"

    Go Army! Beat Navy.

A little chilly out there tonight but not too gruesome. As much as I hate to lose, I was feeling sorry for Army. It seems more sporting to spot them a win every so often. Actually, I can't really gloat after giving up my Navy season tickets pre Paul Johnson because we sucked so badly for so long.

In all seriousness, Navy is exhausted and decimated. A schedule as grueling as they played isn't easy with all the academic and military stuff on their plates. I'm not sure the conference grind is going to be a good idea for a military academy. But I am truly glad to see Army get better. It sucks to always suck.

Good year for Navy, though, playing our 2nd through 4th string QB's all season. We certainly missed Will Worth at QB tonight. But, in the end I have to say: congratulations Army. No excuses, they earned it.

Go Navy! Beat Army (next year)
