Keep posting your travels.
Looking forward to more fun and frivolity from Xenia and Martin
Can you add Luxembourg and Jersey - both places he visited with me !
Good to see the Pig on the move again.
So the countries he travelled through with me were:- A, I, CH, F, CDN, SLO, England & Wales.
Here a little update (without pictures though, because the internet is really bad here):
We just entered Pakistan yesterday and will be here with Bacon for another 3 weeks. We crossed Kyrgyzstan. In India we will give it to another rider from this forum with the user name "Joshuwaa" :) He will take him to Nepal, South East Asia and further. We will upload some great pictures of Bacons Adventures as soon as we have some good internet and of course also a hand over picture with Josh in India.
Looking forward to some photographs of what must be an amazing place
So guys, we had an amazing time with Bacon in Kyrgyzstan, China, Pakistan and North India. He is now in good hands (I will let you know in whos a little later).
Here some pictures of him with us on our world trip:
After we got Bacon from Kinga, we spent some days together before she rode on and we and Bacon visited Fairy Tail Canyon in North East Kyrgyzstan. He found some new friends: Rib and Roo (a little pig and a little Kanaroo as you might be able to see on the picture)
After that we rode a crazy offroad pass into the mountains to visit some yurts, where Martin got a puncture. Bacon seems to know how to fix tyres so he was a great help
And he helped with some other flats....
We needed a little time out so we headed to Song Kul lake (above 3000masl) to camp and we also went for a swim in the lake. Bacon really needed a bath anyway and seemd to enjoy the time at the lake.
Before we headed to China he needed a good nights sleep in our comfi tent, which he enjoyed as well even if it was pretty cold.
Bacon in China
China was really taff on Bacon because he was hold in custody for 3 days!!! Poor piggy but after he was released he enjoyed the ride from Kashgar over the Karakorum Highway to Paksitan a lot!
Also the food was really yummi but the chopstick thing was a bit hard for him
At the border to Pakistan it became really difficult to leave because the gate did not open.
But the army guys found a tool to break the lock and Bacon and us were realeased to leave for Pakistan
Bacon in Pakistan
Bacon really enjoyed Pakistan even if the people there seem not big fans of pigs at all...they were still very friendly towards him and he loved all the offroad riding there.
Pakistanis love high suspension bridges...most of them are in good condition but some not and Bacon was a little scared sometimes
Therefore he decided to get himself a sword and some eagles feet...
Camping in Pakistan was really fun too and Bacon even helped to cook breakfast in the morning
After three weeks in Pakistan he was looking forward to India...he heard they have beer there!!!
Bacon in North India and the hand over
The border crossing was fun and Bacon really loved his first Kingfisher beer
In Sarinagar he was beeing a bit romantic on one of the house boats
And then came the time: Bacon rode over one of the highest passes in the world (Khardung La) where he was handed over to @joshuwaa
We had an amazing time together and we will miss the little pig a lot. He will travel with Josh through India and then further to South East Asia...maybe we gona see him again though in Australia....who knows
Here is the updated map of Bacon:
If you guys want to see more of our adventures without Bacon but our XT660 motorbikes you can follow us on facebook, instagram or our blog (we make a video of every country we have been to).
Cheers from Manali
Should include Italy (I).
Wonder what happened to his earring?
He lost it in Kyrgyzstan but he got a new one now :)
Good to see the little pig is still on the trip
What a fantastic adventure!
Hi all! I'm very excited to be escorting Bacon on his travels, he's got more history travelling than I have in being out of school...
The official handover was at Kardung La, which felt pretty significant. He got to know the inside of my bags very intimately for the next few days, being rattled around on the rough roads after the pass, the back road to Pangong Lake, then down to Tso Miriri aswell:
Getting back out the mountains into Manali was a relief, they even had real bacon!
He'll be joining me for a good few months on some new adventures. Heading over to Nepal now for a few weeks, then back out into India before jetting off in a plane to Vietnam to meet my cousin to ride from Ho Chi Minh to Hanoi. Back to India for a month or so riding south then shipping off to Malaysia to go to Borneo Island, into Indonesia and back over to Australia. Then he might join Martin and Xenia again! Unless I bump into someone worthy going somewhere exciting
Non-bacon related info on my trip can be found here: http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/uk-to-nz-travelling-ent.1224969/
He's been on some adventures in the last 6 6 weeks or so. After a long break in Manali we rode through Uttarakhand and some amazing mountain roads and into Nepal where he celebrated Diwali
the hotel guy was a lot happier than he looked...
Then off on some very bad roads into the hills where we met his lazy brethren
Eventually making it to a very long break in lovely Pokhara. Off to Kathmandu for a little city sight seeing, which neither of us enjoyed all that much, but there were some stunning views
Then back to Pokhara to meet Martin and Xenia again and tackle the most challenging road I've ever been on. We made it up to Muktinath without too much drama except a couple of offs here and there.
Time to leave Martin and Xenia again for a long time and head south. Back in to India and to Varanasi, though someone may have forgotten to take bacon outside in all the rushing around seeing things...
Then on to Kolkata to store the bike and fly to Vietnam. Where we now sit with a beer in Ho Chi Minh, waiting for my cousin to arrive and getting busy buying bikes to ride up to Hanoi and beyond. He's excited
Updated map of bacon conquered nations:
Now includes Nepal and Vietnam
