This was a cool town set in the mountains of Albania. We are checking out the castle up on top of the hill.

After taking nearly a year off duty, my bike is ready for two more years of action. I forgot how much I enjoyed riding it. I was afraid I would be afraid of the weight of it, but once it gets rolling, the weight all but disappears.

I am planning to hit a lot of wineries over the next few months. Tam and I are excited about it.
Here we are at Cabo winery in Albania. They make the best wine in the country. At 6 Euro a bottle, it is a good value too
While the wine was good, the cheese plate was awesome. Some of the best cheese ever.
I see a lot more cheese tastings in our future

Our first night camping. I found a spot along the shore of Lake Ohrid in Macedonia. I had to do a little off roading to get to it, but it was well worth it. We sat there under the stars, watched the satellites wiz past and polished off a bottle of Albanian wine.

In Macedonia, thee are two huge beautiful lakes, one is Ohrid. We did a hike up a mountain in Galicia Nat'l Park.

The road around the lake was stunning

After the hike up the mountain, we rode down to the lake for a cold beer and a cool dip in the lake

All that and Hello! Flips, too!! You two are livin' the life! I'm glad you've rekindled your love for the Beemer. It's all looking mighty good from my beach chair. Happy trails, Ed!

This was one of my best meals ever.......Macedonia - who knew.
Lots of meats, cheese, salad and bread.
The vintage Champagne was a bottle i had been carrying with me since France last year.
It was a 2006 Roger Manceaux Premier Cru
We went big because all our other meals are coming from the supermarket.

Our camp spot on Lake Mavravo. When we found this beautiful spot, there was trash scattered everywhere. In about 15 minutes, we had the all the trashed picked up and set in one big pile. I siphoned some gas from my tank, threw it on to the pile and lit a match.

It's not the kind of place I would want to spend a week there, but it was nice for the day

Heading out of beautiful Macedonia and it to Kosovo, it must have been berry season. We found these kids along side the road in Kosovo selling blackberries.
We bought about a kilo or two for only 2 euros
The girls seem to do a better jobs doing the picking. The boys not always picked ripe berries and they were a bit more crushed.

It was getting late and Tam was getting worried about where we were going to camp that night. I don't worry any more as something always seems to pop up. I have a pretty good eye for finding the right place. And this night in Kosovo, we really scored. It was a bombed out house with a million dollar view. The approach was very steep and rocky bot I was able to get my bike down to it

We spent the night in Kosovo and crossed back into northern Albania.
I took this road that was a single lane, mostly paved and snaked thru the mountains. It took a few hours to go just 130 km. It was exhausting on such a big, heavy bike. It rained part of the way and it made the tight turns slippery. We only passed a handful of cars the whole way
