Our latest livetrip reports: We celebrated the New Year's Eve in El Chalten, along with many more travelers and strictly NOT vegetarian food! The 20€ p.p. entrance fee for the Perito Moreno glacier is not cheap at all, but we don't regret it! “An apple a day keeps...the wind away!”. Healthy snack break on Ruta 40, with freezing cold and strong wind – against, as usual! Free overnight stay at the Highways Administration building in Tapi Aike, hosted by Carlos. Pro Evolution Soccer included in the accommodation amenities! Eventually, I let Carlos win to thank him for his hospitality! We found ourselves in Patagonia during the high-season peak. It's difficult to travel in this corner of planet earth during winter, but probably next time we'll be here, we'll be carrying snow chains! We didn't visit the famous Torres Del Paine National Park either. We decided not to have the unique experience to walk its paths cramped with hundreds of other visitors. The road to the end of the world...Impressive! We were trying to find a relatively cheap and decent place to spend the night (during the high season, this is not an easy task) and the night fell...The research started at Puerto Natales and ended in Punta Arenas, 250klm away, We did it thanks to Kitsos - our Vespa - the kilometer-eating beast! People like Graciela can restore our faith to humanity! We met her by chance outside a supermarket and she hosted us in her little campsite (La Casa Azul de Graciela), where we planned to stay for the night. Actually, we left 8 days later! In RioGrande, we now have a friend- a mom- an aunt, a beloved person who we'd like to see again as soon as possible! YES!!! Ushuaia at last!!! We did it!!! We are really overwhelmed for getting to Ushuaia...To get there it needs some extraordinary...luck! NOT skills...but LUCK! Ruta 3 during the high-season is an overcrowded road, full of drivers with killing instincts! We went to Ushuaia only because we had said that we would and the next day we left as fast as we could and returned to Graciela's campsite at Rio Grande. Safe rides folks!
