I'll be passing through Astrakhan heading south to Georgia, and very near the Kazakhstan border for one night.

I've just noticed on the UK FO web site that you don't need a visa to enter Kazakhstan. Anyone know of any reason why I wouldn't be able to pop over the border just to take a look-see? Or do they not like that kind of casual entry...? :)

Ha, ha, realised that this will not be possible as I only got a single-entry Visa! Doh - so much for last minute changes of plan.

However, I will ride the E40 from Astrakhan as close as I can get to the border, at least to say that I followed the route that I started from Calais!! <¬O ;¬)
