Anyone else out there enjoy Astrophotography?
I'm still learning. It's a slow process for me, mostly because I like to sleep :lol3
When I take the time to do it in a truly dark place (Southern Utah has some awesome dark skies), I feel so tiny in this universe, but I feel connected to it all.

Here are some of mine. Shot with an Olympus M10 MkII (MFT) w/ Rokinon 12mm

Yes, my goal last weekend was to take some that included the bike.

I hope others will do so also.

so I went out last night with the roadie
This is my first astro pics with a foreground so not unhappy
These are unedited and a screenshot off my phone as the conversion out in the field to my phone gave me a bloody PDF file... All part of the learning curve.
Next thing to learn is adjusting the focus points to bring everything into focus
I will edit the background when I get some time to play with it.
That is the milky way in the background. It's about to head out of our sky until it returns again in March Iam told.

Glad you started the thread. ^^^ All great shots folks.

Pretty soon they'll be some fellows drop in with unobtanium results for us regular folk. Mr. Bomose is one of those, he inspired me to try to do some of this. I love trying to photograph the stars. It is a hobby that goes perfectly with "adventure" riding because when I camp, I can stay up as late as I want. :brow The biggest problem, of course, is that I shouldn't have to wait so long for a new moon! I think that I'm getting somewhat near the technical capabilities of the Sony A6000, and it is the biggest thing that I ever want to carry. That's OK with me, I don't have to be bomose! :D

Please keep them coming, I love to see the work.

@Gasman_ADV how are you taking those with a phone? Generally speaking, what are your settings? I have no idea on how to use my settings so would you give me some basics?

    Sorry mate
Using a Nikon 610 full frame semi proffesional camera with a 55mm f1.4 lense
And a very small amount of knowledge of how to use it.
It Wi-Fi, S to the smart phone. But is a little bit messy with its Wi-Fi capabilities. Later models hook up to a phone much better.
You can see the camera in the selfie
I use the phone to post pics to the internet in the first instance.
    Cheers

I found a Japanese photographer named Masahiro Miyasaka. He uses a technique that captures both the fore- and background (Milky Way) of the image in one exposure by adjusting the aperture and focus rings mid exposure. It creates this really ethereal look to his images. I want to try it sometime to see if I can mimic it:
