Is there an emission label somewhere on your bike that says it's on-road compliant?
i never saw one on the 99 i had, it was originally a ca. bike.
Was it dual sported from the factory or did someone convert it?
i just checked mine, no sticker, 96' DSES from factory, I didnt pull the tank though. are you having trouble licensing it ?
I'll be selling mine soon, need to thin the herd
I may be trading a gentleman his '98 605 for my Husaberg. The problem is the ATK is Oregon titled. California is anal about any street titled bike coming in, it needs to have an emissions label stating it's on-road compliant--whether it's federal or California emissions.
I had read that ATK never had emission labels on their bikes somewhere and was wondering if that is, in fact, true.
mine was california street legal from the factory bought at a dealer in riverside. the original sales reciept was still with the bike.
call keith at american dirt bike, i know he can print new VIN labels and he might have something for the emissions tag? either way he should have some answers for you.
Thanks 2 SPOT.
Go to chp instead of dmv for inspection.
Just picked up a 97 605 with a rand total of 323 miles on it. Sitting since 2000. Installed new timing belt, oil and filter change, new battery and it fired right up.
AAA was no help in plating it, kicked me over to DMV, who looked at it and simply would not touch it. " where is the CARB sticker?"
Talked to ATK, the only sticker they had was for 99...so it looks like a little retouching is in order. Hopefully with that sticker from ATK I can get a California plate... I have original title from first owner.
