Looks like you could ride a cb 750 up it ;) But we know better.

Doing the ride of death again the 29th Sat. Don’t be skart.

I want to climb that Huffman spur this winter. It’s so grown up currently, it’s about impassible.

Dragging trees into a road is GOOD for the water/erosion/wildlife/environment. Duh!

Riding a bike down one of those roads would silt up the streams, destroy the planet, scare the wildlife, all that jazz.

Same old bullshit, same old Forest circus.

Great excuse to restrict access to all the non vandals, instead of actually punishing the asshats that did the wrongs.

I have not seen the carnage you are referring too.
And have no official word about it as of yet.

But, from experience in the parks,
the damages caused by a couple riders when the park is closed for conditions is usually quite significant.
And usually requires alot of man hours to repair the trail.
Typically this ass hat rider has little or no concern for the efforts to make something nice for everyone to share.
    Typically 4wheelers
they enjoy infinate donuts in the parking lot and on the trail.
    Cutting new illegal FS trails,
Digging out mud holes on the trail - like theres money in it..
    Leaving trash all willy nilly.
Being true to their IDGAF and fuggem Lifestyle.

it's not your average rider who slips in that is the bad guy being referred to here.

Now, I don't want to offend any asshats with the N Word but,
    Specifically,
Those are ones who ruin it for everybody.

    It's all those fuggin NAGGERS.

NAGGERS = people that annoy you.

It's not the Naggers f'ing things up. It's the 'Tards.

Anyone gotten a ticket lately for riding around a "closed" sign? Wasn't there an incident at MMM this year?

What was the fee for the award?

There was numerous awards given at one stop location incited by the locals calling in protest to the volume of trespassers traffic.

    M.M.M. Award for
    Traveling on Closed F.S. roads
cost the imposed maximum fine of $500

Ouch...guess the bright side is that they didn't get the 6 months in the Big House

    upload_2018-9-19_11-54-13.png

This also applies if you don't pay the $5 user fee. Technically I guess they could cite you for riding around the Closed Sign and not paying the User fee.....Double Ouch

As many riders that are associated with MMM, I kinda understand. I cringe when I see them over on this side of the mtns. I hope they stay the hell over there. That’s how stuff gets locked down for good.

Only been caught once about 5 years ago in the Talladega NF. 20 out of 30 of us got tickets. Mine was $250, most were $300. It was the USDA and they were BS non moving violation charges. So basically BS revenue generation.

I’ve ridden a TON behind gates. Paying $300 in 7 years of riding has been no big deal in the long run. Sure it sucked and I don’t want any more, but I’ve weighed the risk vs reward and found that it’s worth the risk.

Way back when my club worked with USFS, we came up with the idea of adding an additional 20 mile loop to the 2 loops of trail in place, and organizing a closure and rehab schedule so that 2 of the 3 loops would be open while the third was closed for service and recovery.

We were told that people riding off the trail would have to be stopped first. We informed them that they were in control of that, not us.

20 years later, no third loop...
