Greetings Friends of GARTRA and Town Creek OHV Trails!

As you might know, archery deer hunting season has begun and primitive weapons season begins on SAT Oct 13th per the Ga DNR website for Green County. We are having one last workday, volunteer appreciation LUNCH, afternoon ride & camping at Town Creek on Saturday Oct 6th.
It has been our most successful season thus far with a grand total GARTRA contribution of over $9,000 in cash and volunteer hours! We have invited the USFS Oconee staff to join us for lunch and provide updates and goals for projects in 2019. The USFS staff have been very impressed with our accomplishments of bridge repairs, clearing downed trees, erosion control and trail hardening.
We must be off the trails at 4pm, but for those who want to stay and camp, we can ride great country dirt roads for street legal bikes in the area, there are a few good restaurants in Greensboro for dinner and the local brewery Oconee Brewing Companyfeatures live music Sat night.
For those that camp Sat overnight or arrive on Sunday, no workday is planned Sunday, just a fun day of riding until trails close again at 4pm. Town Creek OHV trails officially close for the remainder of 2018 on Friday Oct 12th and will reopen in mid January 2019 at the conclusion of deer hunting season.

Join GARTRA for the final workday of the season at Town Creek Saturday morning and ride in the afternoon.

Overnight “dry” camping is allowed (no water or electricity on site) with the option to ride on Sunday. Campfires are permitted.

Meet the volunteers and members of GARTRA who have contributed over $9,000 this year to keep Town Creek OPEN. Meet the USFS staff.

COST: No cost for parking, lunch and riding IF you volunteer with GARTRA! FREE Camping for EVERYONE! $5.00 per rider each day (if not volunteering)

WHEN: Saturday October 6th, 9:00am

WHERE: Town Creek OHV Trails, LOOP B (Shady Pecan Grove) Greensboro, GA

WHAT: GARTRA WORK/RIDE DAY: Meet at 9:00am for safety meeting and plan of action. All skill levels of trail maintenance are welcome. Caution: Loop A single track is very technical

LUNCH: FREE meal, snacks and drinks provided by GARTRA

GOALS: clear downed trees from recent storms and survey entire trail systems on A & B loops.

What to Bring: small backpack to carry tools, work gloves and water. Small loppers or pruners.

PLEASE NOTE: weather conditions may interfere with the workday, so check email, GOR or FB if conditions are sketchy to verify!

Suitable for off-road motorcycles, dual-sport motorcycles and ATVs.
No UTVs or vehicles with axel width over 48" due to bridge limitations

Town Creek OHV trails officially close Friday October 12th due to the hunting season and will reopen mid January 2019.

Pretty impressive hill climb by LG650 at MM. It's practically a 12ft vertical start.

Rode some fun stuff at MM today.

good job and sorry I missed yall yesterday. That hill gave me fits this am. It had just enough wet to keep me off balance and sucking wind all morning
However, I may or may not have seen HiPower90 launch all the way up it today like Mr. Chain Blue Lightening. Hat tip to the Outlaw Josey Wales at 2:35 in:
