My husband and I are headed to Suches Friday morning in hopes to find somewhere to camp and ride KTMs (dual sporting). We plan on staying through Monday. Most camping places that take reservations are full. I have been to TWO plenty of times but never to camp. They said we would have to park truck and trailer in the "parking lot"??. We stay in the enclosed trailer so staying in a parking lot doesn't sound great. We can do without electricity, but would really like a shower and bathroom if possible. Any suggestions on camping areas/spots in that area? And anyone riding this weekend? If not, we will explore. I have done the Hooch dual sport a few times, Im sure I can find something.

The “parking lot” they are talking about is a smallish gravel circle with grass parking spots. There’s bathrooms and showers available at twos.

Otherwise there’s plenty of campgrounds north of suches on hwy60. Or at the base of blood mountain is turners campsites, last I checked it was non reservation. I’m local but still always wanted to camp there. Plenty of dual sporting right around the corner of any of those options.

I slept very well in my little trailer in the TWOS parking lot, parked next to the little stream last Oct. Shower house is clean and very nice, and bathrooms are a short walk across the bridge in the main building.

Plus it has a nice view of the pasture and mountains.......... I wouldn't hesitate to camp out of my trailer there.

Cheers and heres to a great weekend.
heres a picture of the parking lot to camp in. AND right behind me, when I took this picture, is the footbridge that goes to the main parking lot for the restaurant.

That "parking lot" looks much nicer and bigger than I remember it! Thanks for the picture and suggestions! Maybe we can catch up with one of you Saturday or Sunday? My husband hasn't ridden much up there except for the Hooch a couple of years ago. It rained ( he proposed to me after lunch that day :) ). Other time we were passing through on the street bikes last year. I love it up there and wish I could get away more often to ride up there. Heck I wish I could ride more often period!

Those trials peeps do amazing things! I watched them several years ago in Tennessee during a world competition.

Camping- A little off topic, delete if ya need to, Admins! Hi folks! So- For this whole Covid mess, I have been living and working in Quito, Ecuador as a school teacher. The school year is over so I am headed home to the Atlanta burbs. On landing, I will pick up my van and motorcycle and head to the mountains. I'll ride and fish till I can get my Brain swabbed for the virus to make sure i'm in the clear(ish). If you wanted a great campsite, fairly secluded, in good trout territory, where would you go? A power plug and water are really the only requirements. Thanks!!!
