I believe you are talking about the guy I camped ande rode with out there last year. His name is Joe and he is from the bay area. I think I can find it.

Atlanta to MotoMtn via gnarly trails
    Hey Atl folks,
I'm considering selling my beloved Screaming Eagle 2001 CR250R. Some of you may even recall a face full of its fire breathing roost at MotoMtn, HP, DT or hidden ATL trails back in the day :jack

I haven't ridden the bike since Jan and may just park it down at my family farm, but if someone has an itch to relieve the wild days of MX 2-strokes and promises to take care of her then I would sell it for the right price. Ricky Carmichael was one year too late to enjoy the last of the cylinder reed CR's, he rode that dog slow 2002 case reed motor. YEAH, I SAID IT.

Because i was way past my MX prime I converted it to enduro/hard enduro so i could enjoy the gnarl of MotoMtn's trails without spending $10K on a KTM.

It has MVR enduro suspension and that made it next-level in the woods (sprung both ends for 185lb rider + 22lbs of gear). For additional woods comfort she has Acerbis low profile barkbusters, Devol radiator braces and guards, skid plate, pipe guard, ASV unbreakable levers, 18" Warp 9 rear, Shenko 505 cheater, Tubeliss, oversized pegs and steel braided brake lines. For those 60 mile trail rides it has 3gal tank and a plush seat that could use a new cover.

For added low-end woods lugability it has full FMF gnarly exhaust with Turbine muffler, Rekluse z-Pro Start auto clutch, oversized rear sprocket, extra exhaust manifold gaskets for more enduro style low-end (see MXA 2001 article about this genius $1 mod) and Vforce3 reeds. Top end is OEM spec from Honda (I took no chances on an aftermarket top-end) and has maybe 4 hours on it. I even have a new unused Polisport plastic kit for it as well as a 2001 owners manual. Because it's now geared for the woods the top speed is maybe 55mph, so you wont be winning any drag races. However, you can lug in tight woods where older bikes fail. She's built exclusively for woods riding now.

This bike is far and away more exhilarating to ride than my 300XCW and anyone who raced MX in the glory days will most appreciate this motor. The power delivery is exciting making it a challenge on big hill climbs, but it always left me feeling young and bulletproof. DM me If you know anyone who wants that old-school 2 stroke MX power in a woods bike.

    THE ANNUAL FALL FOLIAGE
    Self-Guided Dual Sport Ride

    Moved to November 8, 2020

START: Tiger Drive-In Threater, 2956 Old US Hwy 441 South, Tiger, GA 30576, www.tigerdrivein.com

Due to damage in the area from the Hurricane we must move the ride out 1 week to 8 Nov 2020. If you have registered and can not make it on the 8th please contact us and we will do everything possible to get you a refund. If you are already past the point of no return GARTRA Crews are leaving out of the Tiger Drive in on Sunday 1 Nov 2020, to clear what we can and scout out any possible road closers we would need to re-route around. Everyone is more than welcome to come join us on the adventure. We can promise it will be unique, most likely require all kinds of interesting map changes, and lots and lots of tree clearing work.
