Very interesting. That is right in my old high school stomping grounds and I did not even know about it. Thanks!

I rode for 1st time since April this weekend at the family farm down in south GA. Felt awesome to ride again despite the ever present danger of panicked deer, hogs, armadillos, coyotes jumping across my course right in front of me. It's a very uncomfortable feeling blasting down a trail knowing wildlife is prolly laying in the bushes ready to pop up at anytime. I spooked a nicely racked 8pt buck who jumped up and ran for a solid 300 yards in front of me right down a faster part of my course. I was 3rd gear on the pipe and he simply refused to get off my damn trail until i was right on his smelly ass. The rut is coming soon in that part of GA and his down wind smell was powerful in my face. Wild hogs are the worst because of their terrible eye sight so they stand or lay there until I'm right on top of them. Hit one of them at speed and it would be ugly for us both, they're built like tanks. That said, I'm still a month or two from being comfortable dabbing/planting my left foot or picking up my bike up on the side of a north GA mountain.
Hopefully, some of you guys will explore IndianMtn and advise if it's ALL quad trails or if they have some hidden single track. The topo maps suggest a wonderland of hills out there. For perspective, I have a sorcs style 5 mile course at the farm and used < 200 acres to make it. If i used all of my farm I could prolly make a 8-10 mile course, so surely IndianMtn with 4200 big acres has some single track somewhere out there?? MotoMtn was 1200 acres and they had 40+miles of ST and I was adding more before they shut down. If IndianMtn has ST then I'd be there most weekends........ Many thanks if you'd post a ride report if you make it out there.

Speaking of MotoMtn, the owner called me a week ago and said he has a potential buyer he may want me to show around. I await confirmation on that future meeting...... fingers and toes are crossed.

    I'd rather hit a cow

At least after the crash a cow would not get up a finish me off.

now that's a big pig! Yes, when cornered they will turn and fight and I'm not sure my gear offers much protection against those tusks. Might start wearing a sport cup to protect my special purpose :lol3

Hopefully your gear includes a semi-auto .308 with night vision.

It's mostly quad trails, no single track. Has some nice climbs that shouldn't be too big a deal on a BRP as long as its dry. If you get there and it's wet - you might find some of those climbs a bit squirely on a BRP. Trails are two way - so keep that in mind and your speed in check.

I'm supposed to remind you all about the cold winter wind chill that hurts your hands.

    Heres something for that.

Easy on/off and works really well too.

Now get ready - there's riding to be done!

Is anyone interested in a day at Top Trails? It's open Thurs.-Sun. 8 am-5 pm. I can go on any of those days. The Top Trails Park at the Coosa River Brecon Annex is located between the cities of Lincoln and Talladega, Alabama, approximately 20 minutes south of Interstate 20.

If any of you have been there, I'd like to know more.

Rode Friday with an old Army buddy at Prentice Cooper State Park in Chattanooga. Easy flowing trails but the views were incredible. 20201120_181350.jpg 20201120_181158.jpg 20201120_181118.jpg

In the coming weeks I'm going to be riding numerous times for several days of routing for Scullshoals.
also going to be building and routing a 2nd day roll chart of single track routes inside of Durhamtown.

Looking for volunteers to go most all the time. : )

Chime in if you want to ride the dirt roads or the single track
    Or..... both!
    Why not both : )
