Took a slightly roundabout route involving a detour to Taralga to drop a tankbag to a mate.

Had an unplanned diversion while on the way:

Nobody else saw it tho', so it didn't really happen.

Swallowtail pass seemed strangely deserted, with only one tyre track ahead of me (Keefdommirider)

Once again we had a fine time indeed.
Angie loved the ride in and out although rather cool on Sunday morning.
Nice to meet one and all.

How did Pauly with the broken BMW end up?

Thanks for stopping, and offering assistance.
We tried everything to get him going, got it started a couple of times but it would not keep going, bloody electrics.
Eventually we got him back down to the camp near the river, where he called road side assist, they told it would be an hour,
we offered to double him into the rally but he chose to call it a day and travel back to Sydney with his bike.

I did hear some bloke at the rally mouthing off that he had come across Paul while he was waiting for the tow truck,
and was saying that Paul's mates had abandoned him, there was too much alcohol in this bloke for me to try and set the record straight.

Well I did a particularly crappy job in recording Angus's first rally and adventure ride.

I didn't take a pic of the postie when it ran out of oil because he forgot to put the filler cap on, or the stick used to keep the mud rain and gravel out and the oil in (ish). I didn't take a pic of the RG250 oiut the back of Gunning auto repairs which donated a cap that fitted.

I forgot to take a photo of the postie outside the Taralga pub.

I didn't take any photos of his four offs or the many bent bits on the postie but still she goes and goes

He was pretty happy to be there though

I took a very late run from Sydney - straight down the black stuff and didn't leave Mittagong until around 4:30PM. I stuck 1 1/2 bags of ice in the panniers in Sydney (the only reason I mounted them :D - cold rum and coke is good!) and it was melting a treat while I ate in Mittagong.

Interestingly there was still 1/3 of a bag each side the next morning - might have been a bit cool . . .

Saw the GS on the tow truck on my way in. Also stopped to hand pump up the front tyre of an F800. They had let out too much air looking for grip and the rim was on the ground - two up.

Hi-ho hi-ho its off to Thrashers we go, arrive in the dark and set up the tent

I might have been a whisker dehydrated after wringing the DR's neck on the way in, drinking a bottle of rum, 3 pina colada's and a couple of shots without taking on any water so I went straight home in pain . . .

Finally got my photo's downloaded this evening:cry

    Here is my contribution.

Arrived at Thrashers Friday afternoon, set up camp and enjoyed a great meal provided by Sonia and Thrasher, with help from Ila.

    A magnificent feast, fed about 28 hungrey rallyists, 3 course's of course:D
    [IMG]

There was much glee and laughter,

    Saturday morning it looked OK

Sonia's and Thrashers home, with some locals waiting for breakfast

To me the highlight of the weekend was this.

Thrasher and Dave trying to get this to run so that Dave's son could have his 1st ever riding lesson.

    BINGO!

This is his first ever ride on a motorcycle, note the feet arn't on the pegs, he has covered maybe 50 mts

HELP! How do I stop this thing?

    Didn't take long:clap

    Like father, like son

Some riders began to arrive early on Saturday

Since Rossco pansied out early and went to bed it was determined that Angus should drag the slack bastard out of his tent as punishment. I've tried to cut the photo sequence down - lets see if we can follow the emotional rollercoaster ride that is . . . The Rossco Incident.

Its a bugger being dragged out of your tent but its not all bad . . Steve you're so strong - my hero . .

Oh you'll pay for this you little bastard:

Dribble . . . shit I wanna be in my tent:

Its not funny any more - I wanna be asleep:

I'm going to bed - fuck off!!:

    Ohhh Fuck:

Yeah alright you've had your fun:

Oh and yeah, you're dead Angus:

    This is pretty funny though:

But piss off I'm going to sleep:

    Go on, piss off:

I'm sneaking in and they havent noticed:

One more time Dan and I will hurt you:

    Do it Dan, Do it!:

I guess this is pretty funny:

    But Jeez I've had enough:

Hahaaaaa - I'm in - you can't get me in here ya bastards:

    Wanna bet Rossco:

    Yeee-haaaa - Ridem Dan - and shake my pina-colada's:

    Take that Rossco:

    Just Dreamy:

That was, the Rossco incident :D

Remember the geezer* that broke his leg on Thrashers loooonnngggg driveway in '07 and got a helicopter joyflight to boot? That's me.
(*In Clubman Tourer lore, 50 years of age is official 'geezerhood').:deal
'Tiddums' (thx for the name, Chaos) a 1998 Yam TDM850 in tasteless beige metallic saved by generous dollops of GOLD, made her first visit to Sonia and Thrasher's front paddock with me on top for, err, guidance.
I thought it sensible enough to fit a Pirelli Scorpion A/T to the front of the distinctly road-type moto. My last trip in had left me a little nervous.
Steve Crombie (Loston.com) was keen to get out to Thrasher's on Friday, so I and a few of our online mates, Jeremy and Gavin, managed to leave Surry/Sorry/Surly Hills in 'Sid-on-knee' by 1pm for a straight motorway blat to Mittagong Woolies and the servo before a pedestrian ride (for the chookies) via Wombeyan Caves Road in by dusk.

Here's the real motorcycle ;-) with a gaggle of woose bikes at the start of the unsealed section:

We made it in good time to camp and enjoy a few beers before our hosts brought out the feast. Soup's up:

The CX was accompanied in by a youngster (under 20yo I believe!!) on a Suzuki GN250. Did they both leave on the mighty GN??:eek1

Just a couple of pics of the mighty TDM850:

The newly graded Wombeyan Caves Road, inward bound (thx 4 pic, Gav):freaky
Moments later, a wallaby half tripped itself as it shot across my front.... and Steve says another also right behind. Phew! I hate riding at dawn or dusk!

Tiddums just before leaving, Sunday morning. Though the track out had a few slimey patches after overnight rain, it didn't require rope or chain wrapped 'round the rear road-oriented Metzeler Z6. 'Twas good to have the Pirelli Scorpion on front!

    G'day All

It was my first TTT. I had already planned to meet up with a few of our BMWTCNSW Club members at Mittagong on Saturday Morning.

Then it was off to Wombeyan Caves and to the Rally site. This was 15KM out of Wombeyan Caves

Enjoyed meeting many other ADVers including OldOZY, Jason, Icecube1, and everyone else.

The Dome tent I put up on Saturday Avo turned into a Teepee on Sunday morning due to all the wind and rain during the night!

The ride out next morning was a bit "different" compared to the ride in, but it was easier on the XC! Kudos to the CBR and Al on his K100!!:clap

Thank you Trasher for a great time.....:clap

Looking forward to being there again next year!! :thumb
