Anyone running the Barrett exhaust on a 1090, also their racks and bags look to be good value, compared the KTM stuff anyway, anyone run these too/thoughts. Am seriously thinking of selling my 04 950.:D

Hey Geoff im here ! but i have the 1190R with Barrett and Andy staps racks and bags should be the same , it is good gear . There are some prettier bags out there now eg Mosko moto but more dollars I think . Depends on your budget
If i had my choice again , i would go wings shorty and mosko bags and racks. Nothing wrong with Andys gear very tuff and fit for purpose. barrett is a good option for the money
    hope that helps :-)

Thanks Toe, budget isn't an issue, just the Scots in me demands value for money, 1700+ for an Akra seems steep, even though I have them on the 950 and love the note. Hadn't thought of Andy straps.

Both the Leo Vince and the Arrow can be had on ebay for around $500 delivered. No experience with either, but they've been mentioned in this thread by a few inmates happy with them.
Agree that the price for the Akra is hard to justify @ almost 10% of the price of the whole bike. Does look the part though.

I gotta say i disagree with the Akra looking the part.
Just my opinion but for me it was just replacing one big heavy muffler with one big light one.
That's why I replaced mine with the Super Duke muffler, it was cheaper, so I didn't care if I scratched it and it's way more compact than an Akra.
I don't know why but the SD muffler sounds even better on the 1090 than the 1190.

Dose the Super Duke muffler bolt straight on to the Adventure pipe and then just need a new hanger bracket

I've had the Barrett on previous bikes and they sound excellent and are good quality if not a little "basic". I couldn't bring myself to part with the cash for an akra and wanted to try the Wings which I got including two carbon guards (not available with Barrett) for 900 delivered. It is a much better made pipe, has a removable baffle and sounds great.

In some ways though, I'd rather have the Barrett as I wouldn't cry so much when it gets scratched haha !

The Barrett racks look great and I was about to pull the trigger but the internal framing limits the choice of bags you can use as some (Ie Mosko) need a clear inner section to attach.

Wings with baffle in on my 1190, sounds about the same as Akros with baffle in, on my 990. My 2c. The wings shorty is also nice and compact = light. Stock one is a boat anchor! So frickin heavy as just had to fit and remove it to get bike Regod in WA.

Yeah, they're a good bunch at Mororworks.
They've had the bow on the bike for a day and a half and every other bloke that walked in would say 'Hi I'm Michael :D'

Yep, grabbed Deanos 1090 last Friday, sweet ride. New model is 1k dearer, so I took the plunge. Not the nicest looking plate , at least you can't see it while on board but does give maybe the best protection up around the oil sight glass.
