Had a solid two days out west up the Finke River to our favourite waterhole, plenty of red sand, remote tracks, river rockhopping and much swimming. 1A5490AA-40A7-411D-9D19-3BC946A49258.jpeg 2B21AABB-3D71-4365-A0B3-48C3BC2AF8BC.jpeg 941B6192-26E1-41FF-B538-31158EF7A677.jpeg . 895CED0C-DA21-483F-8465-0154D8325682.jpeg

Tried the fix to no avail so took bike to the dealer with said info. They took starter out and changed the O ring. Apparently had to remove the throttle body to gain access. (690).

Was great, an area iv wanted to ride through for years, as always we diverted several times looking for future variations ( of which there are several). We went light but I still found in 35 degrees I had to pull up each 20 minutes or so when we were in the “ hurt locker” of big river rocks and no-track deep sand.(getting old). Overall the 500 km trip was great on the 701 but the 501 was sorely missed on the 13o kms of “ up on the pegs”sand tracks to get home.

Here’s one to remember lads, one of the 701riders had a slow speed “off” and slightly rotated the RHS barkbuster , which contacted the banjo joint on the front brake master cylinder, rotating it slightly which loosened it and leaked Dot4. An easy fix to tighten the union up and re bleed the system as we had 100 mil of spare fluid, but we still recycled the bleed as it took some fluid to drive the bubbles through.

Your trip looks brilliant! That food looks great too, throw in a baguette and it'll be perfect!

I'm super jealous and still in lockdown for a while yet so currently living through others atm.

I have been busy though, the Safari tanks finally arrived after two weeks delay from Aus Post. I just finished re upholstering the seat after cutting it down to suit the big tanks. Next is sort out the fuel filter situation and it'll be ready for my big trip next year (hopefully) 20200909_112414.jpg
