Given there are 790 Dukes already running around and the Adventure is due in a few months, it is timely to start a dedicated thread separate to the speculation thread.

Try and keep the posts topical and relevant to the 790's, so real experiences and knowledge on this model can be shared without wading through useless posts.

Look forward to seeing the Adventure in the flesh in June:evil

Rode a demo 790 Duke yesterday (with Akro) in sport mode - really like the engine characteristics, was able to spin it up a bit, happy enough to put a deposit on the Adventure R.:wings

Did you notice much weight difference compared to your 690 duke? How’s the torque off the bottom?

    Good one Jac!!!

Was wondering when you would get around to the dep ,after all your pro 790 posts.
I am sure with your riding experience and longer inseam you will be able to punt it around the same places I take the 500 .Did take one for a demo ,liked the way it road tried laying it over and did notice the weight, but that could be just me. will be interesting to see the R in the flesh.

The 790 is noticeably heavier and less cramped than the (old)690, but feels as nimble to maneuver once mobile.
The old 690 feels torquey in the lower revs, but once the 790 spins-up a bit (5000RPM+) then it starts to haul (sorta like the new gen 690/701, but on roids)
Really need to ride them back to back.

So, the 790 ADV will be heavier again than the Duke? Any idea exactly how much heavier they will be?

Looks like the American price for the 790 at ktm twins is in between the 1090 aus $21500 ride away and the 690 aus $ guess $ 17500. Which would put the 790 around the 19500 mark ?

I figured the same... ride away AU prices of the 1290/1090/690 were consistently 1.45 x the US prices, so with the US price announcement of $13499 for the 790, that works out at AU$19303.... so 19.5k sounded about right.
Good to see actual australian prices! Is $19995 a ride away price? I think it has to be right? AU advertising laws and all.
Im happy to see it under 20k, but its still going to take me another year to save up.

Guessing for confirmation of final pricing for OZ we'll have to wait until the end of May...

The AUD peso may fluctuate more if Trumpy has a brain fart :)
Under $20K ride away is tolerable... then the power parts options hit!
