Did a 1/2 lap around Wyangla with George.

Spent a fair bit of time powering out of super soft road works.

    2 x Expresso stops

Went off on my pad on Thurs for my yearly look at the ocean - Bermagui via Shannons Flat - lots of tar. Then a run (like weird old guy in cosmic psychos t shirt white socks and joggers and moving da legs) to the pool.

    @nevgriff64

    That’s my younger brother Brendan.

A couple of days later he binned it in a stony floodway on the Oodnadatta track... Ambos took him back to Marree with busted shoulder and ribs!
Tore the whole cockpit / headlight assy off the headstock and ruptured the oil cooler, eek.
    Thank heavens for full insurance!

Hope the Brother mends well, @braaap!

Took a look at the new 790 for the first time in the flesh today - its a nice looking bike and can see why the new owners are liking them. :-)

    An owners post ride ramble...

Well with 3350kms under the wheels in 7 days, from Melbourne up nth west to the Flinders / Gamon Ranges and almost out to Lake Eyre Sth... 60% tar 40% dirt / gravel / snot.

What an utterly competent travel machine this 790R is!

Sure I had a couple of minor mechanical issues along the way, but easily sorted in kind locations...

Hit a baby head in the road at 120kph unwittingly (admiring the wonderous outback scenery)... apart from an instantaneous ‘WTF’ the bars shook but held their and my course!

Motoz Adventures - F&R left at 30psi throughout. Stable and predictable - on the gas and on the brakes - All surfaces including soaking bitumen.

Homeward bound on a ‘piss stop’

Love the CC, QS on road and in the dirt! Wow!

And on return have this to fit up :)

Just had the output shaft seal replaced under warranty. A slight weep. Apparently this is a new kit to fix the recognized issue and not just replacing the seal with same (Braap). Good work KTM.

3000km in 5 days to the Desert Raid.

Does the wings give it a bit more of a note Davorallyfan?

Owners, make sure you grease the edges of the air filter.

KTM have now released a TSB telling dealers to do it in pre-delivery with the Unifilter.

Mine had the leaking output seal, replaced and no further problem.

A Mates had the same, he also had the screen replaced and a loose hose clamp on radiator hose.

    Great bike!

Wings with the db killer is a little louder than stock with a lower note.

With the killer out it's probably enough to scare most roos, and if you go easy, acceptable around the burbs.

I split two roos with the stock zorst that's why I bought it. The 790 goes through the bush so quick!

Good to know Dave, wings say on their web page not to remove the dB killer if you don’t get the new Ecu as well or the exhaust warranty is invalid, I wonder why that is?

Love the ‘rope strapping’. Old school :)
Yes, great bike... Amazing in fact!

Got to get my countershaft seal looked at... Weeping oil, again!
Waiting on delivery of Camel ADV’s clutch arm... Will report in on clutch pull effort following.

On my way up to Blowering Dam to watch a very fast local boat hopefully break the world record tomorrow!

Happy Fathers Day for tomorrow- All you reprobate Motherfcukers :)

That rope is just around the fuel bladder, threaded through the eyelets. Andy strapz through the rope loops stops it falling off. That rope comes in handy sometimes, has a myriad of uses, not the least of which is towing broken down bmws!

How was the ride and how was the Sunday runs?

I'm stuck at home dog-sitting. I'm using the opportunity to weld up the subframe on one bike and wire the lights a little differently on the other prior to rego checks for both of them (and my truck) on Thursday. I'd much rather have been at the dam though.

got up there late Saturday arvo, caught a glimpse of a late run rooster tail... way too cold overnight for me to hang around plus werk commitments for Monday morning so I bailed Sunday 6am... Dodging skippies out to Tumut, stopped at Holbrook for fuel, coffee and the best egg and bacon roll! Then bashed the Hwy home to beat the storm front.

My arse feels like I’ve spent the night with ‘momma’ in remand!
Bloody good to get away overnight anyway. Think I’ve got frostbite but.

    790+ CC. 1000kms + = Easy.

    Except my bum still hurts.

    See you at Dargo?

I wanna go to Dargo eh, but it depends on WifeSilla's schedule. I think she might be away for her mums birthday but I'll have to check.

Didn't anyone tell you it gets freezing up there? :imaposerThat's why the skippies jump all over the roads, they are just trying to keep warm. Do you need better winter gear?

And it is heartening to read that KTM haven't retreated from their "seat of pain". It leaves an owner with something to customise.:D
