    From an Adv point of view I dont see how anyone could justify $4.5 K just to get a different look. I guess if you are racing rallies and need all the associated gear then thats a different story.
    Isnt there already a spot to mount the GPS on the standard bike and mounting it off the handle bars costs abit over 50 cents.
    Those Hella lights are pretty average, I bet the standard lights are probably better.

    Take your pick!! although I like the colour of Nevs and I think a different colour would change the look of the 790, it certainly helps the 990 in my opinion.

    Hi all
    let's start by saying I've been looking at the 1250gs and the Africa twin for some time now and after having a close look at them both today there just too big for what i want to use them for. I've also looked at The tenere but its not for me. Ive never have a close look at the KTM 790 R but after looking at one in the flash today I've gone and done it and put a deposit down.lets hope ive done the right thing.ride report to follow after i pick it up in 3wks

    @mickd

    You will love it!! It’s different to what you know but give it a little time to gel with what you know and expect and the 790 will shine very bright!

    We need to organise a 790 muster... shitloads of them around an epic fire, somewhere remote!

    Cant say much. I dropped it off at dealer before work. They gave me a Kawasaki volcano something ( cruiser with forward controls!) as a courtesy bike (actually it was fun and I must admit I have an R18 fetish)!

    Paperwork says "replaced thermostat and clamp - tested all OK" ...there is no puddle under it.

    Got a few short trips and then a big one planned so hopefully I am sorted...

    Hi all
    I pick my bike up in 2wks.do i have to pay for the quick shift or is it on the bike from new.some say its on but only for changing up a gear but not for down shifting.also are you sealing around the tank protection guards ie silicon or double side tap .seems that they dont fit that well and its open to get loads mud.sand and crap in.
    Thanks mick

    Bike comes with quickshift for upshifts as standard. If you want it both up and down, then you need to shell out for what KTM call Quickshift +. It's just a software update, no actual installation required.

    Haven't had any issues with the tank covers on mine.
