In defence of Cooma, it has 4 distinct seasons, is handy to the beach and mountains, and Fyshwick for all your shopping needs. Then there is an almost unlimited amount of adv riding from the edge of town. there are worse places. I live nearby in the bush just out of Numeralla, its even better.

On the 'a' thing, my daughters are Martina and Anita and my nieces are Belinda, Samantha and Jessica. Just happened that way.

You have a great 'backyard' Steve. I for one loved being down that way, and the festival was very interesting to a young bloke.
Many years ago we used to picnic near the bridge just down from Badjella, our silky terrior would not get out of the water until we packed up and left. Got to love that wet dog shaking in the xl falcon.

S#!+ Ay.... Most farmers I know don't speak real Australian aside from the fact that we don't sound like we're from Europe or Northern USA...

Cant people hold their foot steady on the accelerator?
    How hard is it?
This whole excuse of needing to look at the speedo every few secounds is bullshit. It seems to get raised everytime the speed thing comes up and either i have super powers (extremly unlikely) or the people that use this "have to look at the speed every 10seconds" are poor drivers.

If you cant hold a steady constnat speed then there is something wrong with you driving or vehicle.

I still subscribe to Wheels magazine to keep informed a bit about the 'dark side'. They invariably mark cars down for not having digital speedos. FFS they're invariably 5-10% optimistic too, so what's the point.

I still reckon that outside built up areas we should revert to prima facie speed limits and give people, something to concentrate on. Sticking the car in drive, setting the cruise and wake me when I get there alarm is not conducive to staying on the ball. Allied with non existent driver education, a 'right' to a licence and the ongoing safety mantra of don't drive while asleep or pissed and don't exceed the posted limit and it'll all be good isn't working.
